Being Resident Engineer - Utilites, I am responsible for the construction supervision of all the utilities (dry and wet) of the project
I worked as Assistant Resident Engineer (Drainage) and was responsible for the construction supervision of all the concrete lined channels, box culverts and storm water system of the project
o Review of Inspectors’ daily reports.
o General oversight of Inspectors daily activities and guidance on the
supervision of Contractor’s operations.
o Review of Contractor’s joint measurement and testing requests and
subsequent completed reports.
o Review and approval of the Contractor’s shop drawings (for Roads & Services)
o Monitoring the performance of Surveyors.
o Review and approval of the Contractor’s proposed material and method
statements.
o Preparation of minutes of meetings.
o Coordination with Contractor’s engineers regarding schedule sequence
and method of work.
o Continuous field inspections of the work in progress and the Safety.
o Preparation of written and oral reports to the Resident engineer on
Contractor’s activities.
o Review of as-built drawings in coordination with inspectors and
surveyors.
Responsibilities:
1. To assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational funct-
ions of the day-to-day activities on the project with specific duties related to
Protection/diversion of existing Services & utilities and Betterment work for
DEWA-ED, etisalat, SWD system, etc .
2. To supervise and coordinate the Roadway construction including emba- nkment, drainage, lighting, hard and soft landscape and other Road way
accessories.
3. To coordinate activities with other Engineers to maintain consistency in
the overall construction.
4. To review shop drawings, construction methods and As-built drawings.
5. To prepare minutes of the meetings for the Resident Engineer .
6. To give Input to daily diary of Resident Engineer .
7. To check and monitor the activities of the Site staff.
8. To coordinate with the contractor on scheduling and application of
resources .
9. To keep and maintain strict Vigil on the Site regarding Safety issues and
ensure the safe and healthy environment for all those working at Site .
Responsibilities:
o To supervise the execution of Roadwork and keep a keen eye over the preparation of each layer from the embankment fill to the asphalt.
o To check and monitor the Progress of the work .
o To ensure the arrangement of all required machinery and the equip-ment at Site .
o To ensure the smooth supply of material from the approved Quarry/
Stockpiles .
o To ensure the timely inspection and approval of prepared work by the
Consultant.
o Preparing the shop drawings and calculating the Bar bending schedule for the Drainage Structures according to M.O.T general specifications.
o To supervise the work of structures of the entire project at site.
o To ensure quality control standards in the work of structures, as well as in the Roadwork, according to M.O.T general specifications .
B.E. (Civil Engineering) Always secured Grade A from Matriculation to the final year of Engineering .
