 Preparation of Policies and objectives for Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Security plan for the organization
 Introduction of Process Safety arrangements with respect to operation considering LOTO, Electrical and Mechanical interlocks etc.
 Implementation of relevant plan and policies for Refinery construction activities.
 Liaise with Civil contractors for all activities related to construction as client representative
 Obtain necessary permits for Silo & Godown constructions and refinery civil developments from concerned authorities.
 Preparation of necessary reports relevant to construction activities and submit to legal bodies
 Ensure statutory compliance with regard to Food, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
 Inspect and Monitor Godown/storage areas (Raw and Refined sugar Silos) for upkeep and maintaining Safety requirements.
 Ensure Material stacking on godown/Storage areas are as per standards.
 Ensure fitness on godowns by regular inspection and maintaining standards of regulatory authority
 Organize and participate with MRM for continual improvement and status monitoring on EHS -
customer complaints, legal requirement and statistics comparison on targets.
 Carrying out Risk assessments of the refinery activities, evaluation and dissemination of the same.
 Assist management in implementing statutory regulations for maintaining highest degree of
occupational health, Safety and Environment standards.
 Inspect, monitor and recommend additional needs if required on custody/storage and on final products await dispatch off
 Instilling the concept of Safety and Environmental protection among the employees.
 Investigate Accidents/ Incidents/Near misses, Find out the multiple and the root cause of accidents
and recommend solutions.
 Participate to undertake customer audits and comply recommendations and closeout non conformities
 Schedule targets to achieve objectives and monitor Key Performance Indicators.
 Inspection on Radioactive materials installed and stored for radiation and safe storage
 Ensure safety standards maintained throughout refining areas with special attention on boilers, steam
filters, melting areas etc
 Conduct of SHEQ Awareness programme and workshops at regular intervals.
 Procurement, maintenance and inspection of packing materials, Personal Protective Equipments and
Safety equipments
 Conduct training for newly joining personnel on safety measures to be adhered to.
 Regularly briefing all employees regarding compliance of safety rules and norms, reporting to
higher authorities and initiating necessary actions in case of non compliance.
 Protection and ensuring sensitive areas of refinery from all possible risk and hazards through regular
inspections and messages
 Maintain high operational standards of fire fighting systems of the refinery at all times.
 Publishing and displaying safety posters/ slogans at prominent work locations to increase awareness
of safety among co - workers.
 Conducting safety poster competition, safety essay competition and safety slogan competition and
giving away rewards to suitable personnel.
 Control of workers involved with COSHH/Radioactive materials.
 Conduct of Safety Induction to all newly joining personnel.
 Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence of Organisation standards and ISO/OHSAS procedures.
 Inspect for unsafe acts and conditions and implement the corrective measures.
 Adopt the safety guidelines for storage of large fuel, LPG, oil and lubricants and ensure standards
followed
 Inspect the fire fighting equipment's for operation, proper maintenance and upkeep of records.
 Consulting with all the employees, legal and statutory bodies for maintaining good work relationship.



