Providing Industrial Engineering support to the client.
Working very closely with the Operations and Warehouse Managers.
Responsible for improving productivity by applying Industrial Engineering Principles.

Re-engineering of receiving department.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager:
Conducting time studies to ensure up-to-date labor standards.
Assisting R&D with product development.
Providing industrial engineering support to Plant Managers.
Initiating improvement projects via industrial engineering principles.
Establishing labor standards for the upkeep of the incentive system.
Consistently overcoming and investigating inefficiencies.
Consistently developing yield and correlation studies to ensure accomplishment of performance targets.
Major Projects
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE):
Took the initiative and consulted with a top South African consulting Group (CRG) which culminated in a proposal for an OEE workshop which was approved by the Managing Director of I&J.
Drawing Up Process Flow Diagrams:
I was tasked with drawing up process flow diagrams as well as working closely with the Quality Department for a Capex project costing approximately R5 million. The process flow diagrams were an essential part of the project as all future data and information regarding the project was plotted on these flow diagrams.
Achievements
Improved process method thereby saving the company R70k.
OEE proposal got the go ahead from the MD.
Reporting to the Technology Station Manager:
Conducting various industrial engineering projects in the textile industry in order to improve productivity.
Major Projects
Facility Layout:
Conducted a facility layout study for an existing textile company. The facility layout was approved and implemented. The company is currently using the layout in manufacturing their garments.
Business Process Analysis:
Conducted a business process analysis study for a toddler clothing manufacturing company that supplies South Africa’s major retailers.
Reporting to the Owner.:
Directly managing a staff complement of 30.
Managing day-to-day running of the business.

Reporting to the Pack House Manager:
Developing and practicing application processes and systems to improve quality and productivity, as part of a practical training group team.
Acting as Trainee Production Line Manager.
Successfully conducted various projects proposed by management relating to productivity improvements utilizing Industrial Engineering Principles.
Effectively maintaining the correlation results of size vs. weight of products. A total of 10 projects were implemented by management.
Achievements
The management of the organisation applauded me for my ability to take initiative, work on my own as well as in a team and for my leadership and managerial capabilities.
Recommendations made in a number projects were implemented which led to a highly comprehensive ergonomics study and positively influenced management’s outlook on key production areas.
