Obeikan Glass Company (OGC), is a closed joint stock company owned by Obeikan Investment Group (OIG) and Saudi Advance Industries Company (SAIC). It specializes in the production of high quality float glass. Its manufacturing process uses world-class production technologies developed by Fives Stein-France. The state of the art manufacturing plant that started its commercial operations in 2011 has a capacity of producing glass at 800 T/D. With its annual glass production of more than 255 k Tons in different sizes and thicknesses ranging from 3 mm to 15 mm favorably meets the float glass requirements of KSA, GCC, South East Asia and some European / Latin America markets.

Notable Achievements (in brief):

1. In pursuance of a QMS, we labored had and was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 in July 2015 by Bureau Veritas (BV).
2. The Corporate launched a new program OME-Obeikan Manufacturing Excellence, covering area like Safety, Quality, Production, PM, OEE etc.. We were successful in delivering the years and targets. Also, started Business Oriented Training on Lean Sigma and Customer First.
3. Special focus was given to achieve a good Saudization percentage (always around 24%) and this was achieved by having good Training and skill enhancement system.
4 In Supply and Chain, we started using the KAP - King Abdullah Port (Rabigh). In Yanbu Light Industrial Area, we ship the largest tonnage of glass in containers around 600 a month.
5. As part of protecting the environment and discharge our Corporate Social Responsibility, we initiated the largest programme to collect the “Cullet”-broken pieces of float glass. Monthly we collect around 400mt of cullet from our and competitor customers.
6. Glass is packed in wooden boxes and to reduce “cutting of trees” we worked on different strategies to promote “loose glass”. The result was achieved through hard and consistent efforts of all and we could achieve a monthly sale of 2000 tons loose glass in KSA and GCC.
7. In line with expanding our Product Portfolio, adding value added Products and towards integration we entered into a Joint Venture with AGC France. We would be supplying the raw glass to the JV and they will manufacture the coated (or refractory glass).
This new JV will enhance our image in the market and establish us as formidable players.
In March we celebrated one million safe man-hours, reached 2 million by November 2015
