• Streamlining the newly implemented APRA Revenue System.

• Analysis of Revenue (Region wise & Class wise) on monthly basis (Previous Year Month Vs. Current Year Month) as well as yearly basis to analyse overall increase/decrease in revenues of SV)

• Comparing and forecasting on possible budget over utilization using self-made excel based business intelligence financial model and recommending future course of actions to achieve budgeted targets.

• Part of a team for reduction of suspense account receivable balances amounting to almost 80% of average monthly revenue through extensive analysis of GL SAP balances.

Worked as Accounts & Financial Analyst in budgeting and financial monitoring section of PIAC, overall responsibilities during my tenure included:

• Planning, forecasting and preparation of annual budgets of entire network (32 International Stations and 20 Domestic Stations) of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation based on Zero Budgeting technique.

• Monitoring and controlling of annual budgets of entire PIA network.

• Preparation of route feasibilities (Revenue and Cost Projections) of up & down and multi leg destinations on self made excel based financial model and giving advice along with cost saving opportunities on such routes.

• Preparation of projected cash flow statements and cash flow variance analysis (Actual vs. Budgeted) of various stations.

• Variance analysis of revenue, operating costs, financial costs and non-operational costs. Reasoning of adverse/favorable variances and to propose cost saving initiative in the form of presentation to higher management.

• Generating management reports from PIAC’s in-house CITRIX system to check profitability and other key variables for management perusal.

• Research and reporting on variables influencing company’s performance.

• Calculation of key aviation and financial Ratios of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation to support overall financial analysis presented to BODs.
Management and Assembling of International Catering Finance Personnel in 07 Domestic and 13 International stations in Finance Division of PIA.

• Preparation of cost model using Absorption as well as Activity Based Costing methods to analyze per meal cost and giving recommendations on reducing cost.

• Evaluation of agreements pertaining to Food Services provision at 13 International stations and 07 Domestic stations of PIA food uplift.

• Upon expiry of the contracts, to identify the caterers at respective stations, pre-qualify them, invite them to participate in tenders and then after tenders the financial evaluation function is carried out for final award of tenders.

• Review & interpret financial statements of domestic and outstation caterers to provide status of company prior to tendering arrangements.

• Review financial records (Receipts and invoices) of catering parties to identify avoidable expenses resulting in savings for the corporation.

• Deal internal & external audit matters relating to Food Services Division.

• Planning of budget for the next fiscal year keeping in view all the variables like consumer price index (CPI), Retail Price Index (RPIX) & Whole Economy Labour Index (WEL) etc.

• Business development in terms of third party contracts for sales whether it is duty free or a regular sale to our customer airlines in terms of Food Services provision.

• Any other work delegated by higher management such as presentation on Strategic Planning of PIA Flight Kitchen to attract prospective Airline customers by preparing Financial Feasibility Reports such as Investment Appraisals and how such a change will bring an increase in overall business value of PIAC without compromising on quality.
Other activities included,

• Preparation of Director’s Report for the year 2013.

• Preparation of Financial and Operational Report of PIAC in comparison with different airlines using financial data, traffic data and other key aviation performance indicators along with commentary on the same.
