Job Responsibilities:

Brief description of project: Tata Steel’s integrated steel plant green field project of 6Mtpa capacity with investment of 8 billion US$. Facilities right from Raw Material Handling System, Coke Plant, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, Steel Melting Shop & Hot Rolling Mill are being set up along with 202.5 mw captive Power Plant and major utilities such as oxygen plant, pump house, ETP, fuel storage tanks, hazardous / explosive material like LPG, Hydrogen, HCL, etc. Expected consumption of concrete & structural steel will be 13 Lac cubic meters and 2.5 Lac Mt respectively. Daily 25000 average number of contract employees (one of the biggest construction site in India w.r.t. number of employees engaged) deployed for construction & other support activities with 90 numbers of tower, crawler and tyre mounted cranes and around 1000 heavy vehicles

• Responsible for monitoring EHS performance that include team of 150 qualified safety professionals from TSL, consultants and business partners
• Development of LT and ST strategies with senior leaders and derive deployment plan with Project Managers / Unit Chiefs.
• Developing Health & Safety Annual Operating Plan to meet Annual Business Plan of Corporate Safety
• Coordinating for HAZOP Studies, Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA), Risk Based Inspection. Monitoring progress of PSRM (Process Safety Risk Management) implementation w.r.t. PSI (Process Safety Information) and PSA (Process Safety Analysis), OP (Operating Procedure) and PSSR (Pre Start-up Safety Review) right from design stage of project. Involved in EIA (environmental impact analysis)
• Facilitate deployment of Safety Management Systems to develop ‘Zero Incidence’ safety culture based on DuPont Methodology
• Monitor and review HSE performance of units and carryout periodical safety audits to assess the effectiveness of CAPA
• Formulation of Road Safety Improvement plan and monitoring its effectiveness during project execution
• Charting safety measures for minimizing occurrence of constructional accidents, fires, calamities and conducting investigations for incident’s root cause determination using DuPont Incident Investigation model
• Formulating unit-wise KPIs & monitoring its performance thru safety action plan. Regular Site Safety visits along with Project Managers for initiating proactive safety measures along with gap analysis / non-compliance to applicable critical safety standards
• Formulating systems for establishing OHS infrastructure and facilities. Review process of pre-medical checkup, specific health assessment for critical jobs and monitoring of prophylactic and post incident management system
• Liaising with Govt. agencies such as Director - Factories & Boilers, District Magistrate & local administrative authorities.
