Description:
The DTCC is a US based Financial Institution that supports high end with criticality 180 databases. Separate databases are maintained for each application . The requested modifications will improve the functionality and capability of the database, ensuring the system remains relevant for future requirements.
Environment:
Team : 15 Members
O/S : IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux AS-4, Windows, SQL Server.
Database : Oracle 11g.
Responsibilities:

• Database refresh/restoration.
• Monitoring alert log file for errors.
• Creating primary database storage structures (Tablespaces), altering according to the requirement.
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database.
• Database storage and space management.
• Performing daily backups as per schedule (RMAN).
• Configuration of Listener and TNS names..
• Import and Export of Database Objects and frequent schema refresh.
• Creating and managing user accounts, resources, profiles and roles.
• Performed Query tuning.
• Creation of clone database using RMAN.
• Taking RMAN backup and restoring them based on the user’s request, mostly point in time recovery.
• Administer database backup procedures and perform database recovery when required.
• Taking Backup of Oracle databases both off line, archive mode (Online) and export mode.
• Performed Schema refresh using export/import, since the size of the schema would be more than 400Gigabytes.
• Releasing locks in tables.
