Current responsibilities at GC University as a Data Processor/In-charge Library IT Section, my overall responsibilities are as follows:
Redesign the GC University official Website (http://www.gcu.edu.pk) in 2004 again in 2007 and co-responsible to maintain and update the GCU official Website with Chief Librarian. (http://www.gcu.edu.pk/Credits.htm)
Developed and design GC University Library Website (http://www.gcu.edu.pk/library) in 2004 and co-responsible to maintain and update the GCU Library website with Chief Librarian. (This, GC University Library’s Lahore website has won the first prize among Pakistani Universities in a Library Website Competition organized by Elsevier Publishing in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in July 2006. It is worth mentioned that GC University Library has the honour to win an International Competition ever in the history of Librarianship of Pakistan.)
Responsible for all IT matters in the University Libraries.
Designed and developed Online CD-ROM Database on GCU Library LAN to provide access of Journals provided by HEC on the Local Area Network (LAN) for the researchers and faculty of GCU.
Responsible to keep the backup data of the Library Management System (SQL) and patron’s record (Library Database).
Maintain network which consist of more than 150 nodes.
Responsible for Troubleshooting & Networking issues in the GCU Library.
Troubleshooting hardware systems, printers, scanners, Laptops
Developed Barcode Systems compatible with the Library Management System (LMS).
Responsible to maintain computers & internet Center for special students (blind).
Arranged training workshops with in library and out of the University on subject of Digital Library.
Consultancy for purchasing all new IT equipments.
Responsible to maintain and update the GCU official Website (http://www.gcu.edu.pk) with Chief Librarian.
Responsible for maintaining overall billing record of library, purchasing of books record, supply orders and all official letters of Library.
Responsible for all IT matters in the University Libraries.
Established Virtual Library (http://www.gcu.edu.pk/library/A_S_gateway.htm).
Give instructional guidance to patrons, including use of online searching & CD-ROM Database searching services.
Give instructional guidance to students & faculty members about Virtual Library and searching online Journals through online database provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad.
Responsible to maintain computer & internet labs both Central and PG library
Data Quality Control of NIC Card Data Entry Department also promoted as Shift Supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and data quality during the data entry.
Responsible for maintaining the attendance & pay roll record of 200 employees.
Responsible for all official matters related with attendance and Pay Roll and keeps the official files and letters up to date.
