As an Audit Associate, I have been involved in various assignments relating to audit and assurance directly reportable to the engagement partner. Overall planning of dedicated audits, initial meetings with clients to understand the expectations and designing audit strategies after assessing the audit risk associated with the client.

The Corporation’s Sectors (Branches) underwrite life assurance policies.

During my professional career in State Life Insurance Corporation, I am involved in the following:

•Planning, Supervision and Review of financial and operational audits in various sectors and departments.
•Reviewing accounting and internal control systems and documentation system.
•Obtaining effective audit evidence.
•Consideration of reports and presentation.
•Review re-insurance procedures and calculation.
•Checking Daily Cash Statement (DCS).
•Checking of follow-up dishonored cheques
•Checking monthly Bank reconciliation statements.

•Checking the results of Business contest and challenge.
•Checking commission payments on First Year Premium (FYP), Second Year Premium (SYP) and renewal.
•Checking and approve all Policy holders’ claims provision and payments with relevant supporting documents. (i.e Maturity payment, Survival Benefit, Death claims, Policy loan and surrender value)
•Checking and approve all type of expenses with relevant supporting documents.
