24/7/2006 till now: Work as Operations Engineer in APC MEK Dewaxing Plant. (Alexandria - Egypt)
MEK dewaxing in APC has started at 1983 with feeding capacity 200, 000 tons per year
That its feed is de-aromatic oil and produce bright stock oil, soft and hard petroleum waxes by
Using methyl ethyl ketone and toluene as solvents and contain several processes such as:
o Chemical pretreatment.
o Propane drying unit.
o Propane refrigeration system by using centrifugal compressors and scraped douple pipe heat exchanger.
o Hot oil system.
o Filtration by using rotary vacuum rotary filter drum
o Vacuum flash distillation for the recovery of lube oil distillate and removal of residue
o Hydrofinishing of used lube oil distillate.
o Solvent recovery system
o And all of this controlled by Honeywell DCS control system.


My responsibilities based on: • Reviewing and approving all basic design engineering packages such as: General project description - equipment list - process description - process flow diagram (PFD) - process piping and instrumental diagram (P & ID), plant layout, utility piping and instrument diagram (U & ID), utility balances, and operating sequence description.
• Reviewing the condition of completed work during the guarantee period and arranging remedy of defective work before approving the final payment certificate.
• Reviewing and approving factory acceptance test, site acceptance test for lubecel system
• Attending as senior process Engineer all activities for Hydro test, pre-commissioning, commissioning
• Responsible for four shifts under call 24 hours (day and night)
• Responsible and monitoring lubcel system making in put for all data such as: formula, recipe, raw material and finished products data
• Responsible and monitoring drum decanting system, filling machines, loading arms, unloading through control system
• Reviewing and comment reports for four shifts.
