I am the part of Compensation and Benefits team, currently handling Compensation and Benefits for the employees in National Grid. The various sub processes included in Compensation and Benefits are as follows.
• Flexible Benefits - Flexible Benefits are the benefits provided by National Grid to their employees. There is a flexible benefit scheme available for National Grid employees, where the employees can avail various types of flexible benefits by sacrificing their salary.
Job responsibilities:
(a) SAP Update - Need to Update SAP with details of flexible benefits and its Monthly deductions in respective employee’s records.
(b) Reconciliation - Need to reconcile the records of employees, various reports (HRIS file, Inbound file) and Invoices from various providers of benefits to ensure that the flexible benefits selected and monthly deductions for the benefits are correctly updated in SAP for respective employees and also to ensure correct payment of invoices raised by provider for flexible benefits.
(c) Handling Queries and Escalations - Need to handle queries and escalations from employees with regards to flexible benefits.

• Family Provisions - The employees of National Grid can avail various statutory leaves as per the defined company policy and also they are eligible to receive various statutory payments. The various statutory leaves are Maternity Leave, Enhanced Parental Leave, Statutory Parental Leave, Paternity Leave, Additional Paternity Leave, Childcare Break, Sabbatical Leave etc. The various statutory payments are Childcare Allowance, Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Keep in Touch day’s payment etc.
Job responsibilities:
(a) SAP Update - Need to update SAP with details of statutory leaves in the employee’s records as per their request. Also need to update SAP with statutory payments for eligible employees.
(b) Spreadsheet Update - Need to maintain the employee’s records with details of statutory leaves and statutory payments in spreadsheet.
(c) Letters to employees - Need to send confirmation letters to employees once their statutory leaves or statutory payments has been processed.
(d) Handling Queries and Escalations - Need to handle queries and escalations from employees with regards to statutory leaves and statutory payments.

• Benefit Administration - National Grid provides Company Car to their eligible employees as per the defined company policy.
Job responsibilities:
(a) SAP Update - Need to update SAP with details of company car in respective employee’s records.
(b) Reconciliation - Needs to reconcile the records of employees and various reports (Inbound file, P11D etc) to ensure that all the details of company car are correctly updated in SAP for respective employees.
(c) Letters - Need to send letters related to company car to employees and Government authorities.
(d) Handling Queries and Escalations - Need to handle queries and escalations from employees related to company car.

• Annual Pay and Performance - National Grid revises the salary of their employees and pays performance bonus to eligible employees annually.
Job responsibilities:
(a) SAP Update - Need to update SAP with annual pay increase in the records of respective employees. Also need to update SAP with performance bonus in the records of eligible employees.
(b) Reconciliation - Need to reconcile the records of employees to ensure that all the details with regards to annual pay increase and performance bonus are correctly updated in SAP for respective employees.
(c) Letters - Need to send confirmation letters to employees with regards to Annual pay increase and performance bonus.
Also I am handling various additional tasks which include preparing weekly productivity reports, monthly HR dashboard, volume forecasting, analysis of FTE utilization, attrition analysis, business continuity management, internal leave management, visual management, preparing standard operating procedure etc.

• Payroll - Need to check attendance of employees, process salary of employees and also need to handle all the statutory related to payroll (PF, ESIC, PT, MLWF, TDS)
• Recruitment - Need to source suitable candidates as per the requirement, schedule the interview, call the candidates for interview, conduct preliminary interview, issue offer letters and appointment letters to selected candidates and complete all the other joining formalities.

• Performance Appraisal - Need to assist Managers to review the performance of employees. Also suggest salary increase as per the rating given by Managers for respective employees.
• Leaver Process - Need to check if there are any dues pending for the employees leaving the company, block all the ID’s, full and final Settlement, issuing relieving letter and experience letter.
