I have successfully completed my International Public Health masters course. I have obtained full honors award of Msc International Public Heath with merit grade . In my dissertation I have chosen to do literature review dissertation about the health impact and consequences of FGM among the ethnic communities both in UK and Internationally . The relevance of public health has increased in recent times. The growing concern over the cost of curative health services, the problem of prolonged poor health and chronic disease and the increase in health risk behaviours means the need for public health strategies is greater than ever. This well established course offered me an opportunity to study public health in a multi-disciplinary and research-informed learning environment. This approach enable me to view population health from a number of different perspectives and enhanced my understanding of the people and processes involved in promoting public health and reducing health inequalities. The public health setting is one that is ever-changing and increasingly complex. As such this programme seeks to provide public health knowledge and skills underpinned by the Public Health Training Curriculum (2010), the Public Health Skills and Career Framework (2009) and the Public Health Outcomes Framework (2012).
