Responsible for optimization of the supplier base into a select group of proven high quality suppliers and strategic partners relationships. Work closely with all levels of management especially with Finance and Production to determine needs, develop strategies, plan and provide procurement sources in support of those needs while adhering to Agency policies and guidelines.
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and negotiate contracts.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Expedited purchase orders by identifying and resolving vendor or shipment problems.
• Prepare budget estimates and monitor departmental expenditures.
• Maintain operating files on accounting system and prepare related reports.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing.
• Procured all materials necessary on a timely basis, negotiating favorable contracts with key suppliers.
• Drove cost reduction activities and maintained purchasing documentation.
• Ensured stock inventory levels were maintained to adequately meet operation needs.
• Researched product market information relating to medical equipment and supply purchases and monitored delivery schedules to insure material arrived on time.
