JOB DESCRIPTION:
• collects information from the patients to be admitted
• greets and logs in patients arriving at the hospital
• taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as ordered by the physician
• interviews patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
• shows patients to examination rooms and prepares them for the physician
• records patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records
• explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients
• helps physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures
• prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean

• changes dressings on wounds
• contacts medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests and/or admission
• take care of the sanitary requirements of the patients; which consist of bathing, dressing, and similar other tasks related to personal hygiene
• performs frequent patient evaluations and monitoring performing procedures such as IV placement and administering medications
