¥ Build up relationship with Air Lines/ airline agents locally and overseas to get the best rates and space.
¥ Implement the sales plan and policies laid by the Sales Manager; Take appropriate action on the sales lead given by the sales team for Air Freight.
¥ Supervise quotations, follow up, negotiate with customer and receive booking as a part of daily sales activities
¥ Supervise & Monitor the shipments of regular customers and take corrective actions.
¥ Ensure effective handling for customer grievance procedure
¥ Implement corrective and preventive action for Air Freight business and coordinate with other department for resolution of queries;
¥ Put forth credit approval request wherever requested by the customers; Monitor the activities of Operation Team and organize the air freight unit in line with market and its potentials.
¥ Arrange stock for Airway Bills directly from carrier and report to the carrier. Set priorities and distribution of work among the staff. Be responsible for the complete P&L of the Air freight business.
¥ Develop/maintain Air freight business for domestic and international clients
¥ Meet with middle/senior logistics executives in client organizations to scope out and understand
¥ Provide training and coaching to team members by ensuring employees are working in their assigned areas to provide adequate coverage for all processes which may include task delegation and follow up.
¥ Review claims resulting from missing or damaged cargo.
¥ Maintain professional and proactive communication with all department staff, internal and external customers.
¥ Provides advice on maintaining and improving cost effective ways to handle air freight, and make the job more efficiently.
¥ Achieve monthly annual sales revenue targets
¥ Assess and coordinate internal and external resources to provide feasible and sustainable services to clients
¥ Negotiated contracts with airlines & Overseas Agents
¥ Attend trade shows and seminar, networking meeting to promote the company brand and services.
¥ Coordinated with sales team and dedicated more time to ensure the client satisfaction
¥ Oversee the Air department to ensure that all aspects of Export Cargo from booking, pickup, logging, file creation, customer service and invoicing are performed as per company standards.
¥ Ensure maintain high levels of Customs Service, maintain integrity in the operation and effect a smooth running department
Strategy and planning including the development of operational strategies based on financial budgets
¥ Monitor ATA/ETA with airlines/forwarders/DNATA and ensure freight has arrived as per Schedule
¥ Coordinate with the origin station / Customer support for any discrepancy on shipping documents.
¥ Ensure import arrival notices are dispatched to clients well in advance.
¥ Coordinate with transporter to ensure that the cargo is delivered.
¥ Follow up on customer communications in a timely and professional manner.
¥ Prepare and follow up on all documents and Inform customer of shipment status.
¥ Coordinate with clearance team for collection of delivery order from Airlines/Dnata and Process cargo transfer
¥ Ensure complete documents (as per requirements) are handed over to customs clearance
¥ Coordinate with Transport Department/Vendors for delivery of shipments/proof of delivery
¥ Resolve issues regarding cargo shortage / damage/ claims.
¥ Orders from customers and arranges for pickup of freight and delivery to loading platform.
