Experience and Responsibilities for TETRA Project in NASCO Saudi Arabia as Telecom Engineer. Period: 21 Nov 2010 To 13 May 2015.
Joined NASCO Saudi Arabia as Telecom Engineer for Motorola’s TETRA, A Public Safety Radio Network project, Ministry of Interior Saudi Arabia. NASCO installed, tested and commissioned Motorola’s TETRA Dimetra IP 7.1 secure communication system, but my role is not limited to:
1 - Supervision and validation of RF sites installation to ensure timely completion of installation of civil and telecom works with quality as per DDR.
2 - Acceptance of RF site for completion of civil works including generators, shelter, tower and fence etc. and compilation of snags items list for clearance by subcontractors.
3 - RF sites survey for assessment of provision of electric power for single generator sites and writing scope work and preparing BOQ’s.
4 - Testing of Aviat microwave links, EMERSON ups systems and TETRA MTS-4 base radios.
5 - Configuration of CCTV encoders.

Managed and supervised installation, testing and commissioning of Nokia’s GSM/WCDMA Flexi BTS and PDH microwave for project rollout of mtc (Zain) project in Saudi Arabia for GSM and UMTS network both for indoor and outdoor solutions.

• Served Lucent Technologies w.e.f. October 26th 1997 as an engineer with several titles as Quality Control Engineer, Microwave Field Engineer, SRS Test Engineer, Digital Microwave Test Engineer.
• Transmission Test Engineer: Period: 31st May 2003 - 1st Sep 2004. Tested optic fiber transmission equipments like ISM-2000, AM1+, ADM4, ADM16/1, ADM16/C, and DACS4/4/1. Also testing and commissioning of data communication equipments like Lucent’s MRT stingers and ADSL modems (cell pipe).
• Digital Microwave Test Engineer: Period: 25th Nov 2001 - 31st May 2003. Tested and commissioned PDH and SDH digital microwave link equipments like P-COM, HARRIS and NERA. Having hands on experience using microwave test equipments and solving antenna system and microwave propagation problems to establish reliable microwave communication link.
• SRS Test Engineer: Period: 1st Jun 1998 - 25th Nov 2001. As SRS( Subscriber Radio System ) test engineer I have successfully tested and commissioned several SRS systems like Wadi addawasir SRS system, Majma SRS sytems, Rumah SRS system, Afif1 & Afif2 SRS systems, Jilah SRS sytems, Sajir SRS system, Safa1 & Safa2 SRS systems, Abu Arish1 & Abu Arish2 SRS systems, Umluj SRS system, and Al Lith SRS system. SRS network is a point-to-multipoint complicated telecommunication network operating in 2.4 GHz band, requires radio system’s complete knowledge and the understanding of antenna systems and radio frequency propagation problems in-depth, and I did my best.
• Microwave Field Engineer: Period: 15th Feb 1998 - 1st Jun 1998. Tested and commissioned PDH digital microwave links for GSM cell sites. The digital radios I worked on were P-COM, HARRIS, and NERA.
• Quality Control Engineer: Period: 26th Oct 1997 - 15th Feb 1998. As quality control engineer, I was responsible for inspection of GSM and other related equipments installed in the container for proper installation according to ISO-9000 standard for the GSM TEP-6 project.

• Hands on experience of working on Digital Micro Wave ( RADIO LINK EQUIPMENTS ) 7GHz, 34 Mbits/s Systems NL 141 & 13 GHz 34 Mbits/s Systems NL 148 NERA ( Norway ).

• Hands on experience of working on PCM Transmission Systems, 30G, LT2G, H.O.M. 2/8 Mbits/s and 2/34 Mbits/s SIEMENS ( Germany ), OPTICAL FIBRE TRANSMISSION LINK EQUIPMENTS 2/140 Mbits/s ALCATEL ( France ) & 2/140 Mbits/s SIEMENS ( Germany ) also 2/565 Mbits/s Italtel ( Italy ).

• Well conversant with transmission test gears and can use these to improve the quality of transmission. Test gears I have used are radio-link measuring setup, power meter, TIMS, digital multi meter, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, MTS, frequency counter, signal generator scalar network analyzer, sweep oscillator, digital transmission analyzer, and generator jitter meter.

• Hands on experience of up keeping & maintaining the power supply systems of telecommunication equipments. Where I was engage with troubleshooting and repair of batteries, battery charger/rectifier, switch mode power supply, DC-DC converter, inverter, and UPS.

• Have experience of working in network management center a computerized supervision of optic fiber transmission network ( ALCATEL ) an MS-WINDOWS environment. Here my job was to monitor the performance of transmission network and to guide and supervise the maintenance staff and also to keep liaison with switching staff for earliest rectification of faults.
