01 Systems is a software house, dealing in banking related solutions. My responsibilities there include:
• Analyze client requirements, purpose solution, develop and deliver it to the client within the time frame specified.
• Enhance existing projects, and develop tools to increase the productivity, thus allowing development of new projects with minimal code level changes if required.
• Conduct research and find out feasible solutions for the at hand problems.
TRG Tech is a software development unit of a call centre, TRG, where I was initially hired on a three-month contract and, based on performance, was offered a permanent position. Responsibilities included:
• Play part in team developing software to increase efficiency by matching best agent to customer based on age, sex, ethnicity and other available information.
• Communicate with offshore client services team to gather information, and create telemarketing campaigns based on specifications, and make sure production runs smoothly covering complete life cycle of telemarketing campaign from loading customer information in database and generating daily call reports.
• Train new individuals, giving needed information so that they can work individually to support business.
Siemens Pakistan employed me, for their Turnkey project for a leading mobile service provider in Pakistan, “Telenor”. I joined the team as CAPRI Administrator, where CAPRI is third party software used by Siemens for such projects. However, the responsibilities were much diverse and were that of typical software engineer. They included
• Customize, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft SharePoint based project portal.
• Develop and automate different reports for management.
• Develop web-parts tailored as per the team requirements.
• Develop custom utilities as per need of the different departments involved in the project.
• Communicate with the client, gather their requirement and give them interface needed by them to track the overall progress of the project.
• Assist Information department in keeping the portal updated thus making easier to circulate information.
M.Sc. in Computing and Information Science in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Research Area: Machine Learning, Human Machine Interaction. Appointed as Teacher Assistant, for courses: Algorithms & Data Mining
