My role as a locum pharmacist has enabled me to work in various situations with diverse workloads, clientele and staffing levels (including 100 hours pharmacies up to 15 hours shifts). This has enhanced my organisational capacity and prioritisation skills. It has also equipped me with the capability to adapt quickly and contribute fully to the workplace. I have worked for a wide range of independents and chain stores including: Chemistree, Harrods, Lloyds, and Rowland and pharmacies linked to GP surgeries

Duties:
• Provide accurate dispensing of medicine and exceptional patient care counseling.
• Deliver a remarkable minor ailments service and disease management advice.
• Deliver clinical services such as:
o Hair retention
o Flu vaccination
o Smoking secession.
o Lifestyle management
o Emergency contraception.
• Provide and manage full pharmacy services:
o Medicine Use Review (MURs)
o New medicine Service (NMS)
o Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
o Supervision of drug miss-users (methadone)
• Excellent stock control and inventory management to reduce waste.
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals such as GPs to improve patient care.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and clinical governance.
• Capable of using professional judgment to resolve different clinical issues and ethical dilemmas.
• Guide, motivate, inspire junior pharmacy staff, and supervise over the counter (OTC) sales.
• Clinically checks of medications prepared by pharmacy dispenser for accuracy prior to dispensing.
• Promote health services with full commercial awareness and quality customer service attentiveness.
• Conduct clinical audit in the pharmacy and keep up to date with pharmacy administrative work.
• Train, coach and teach junior pharmacy personnel to qualify as healthcare assistants and dispensers.
Duties:
• Healthcare advising and patients counselling.
• Dispensing/ Checking tasks, dossette boxes, and repeat prescription scheme.
• Taking on as many tasks and responsibilities in order to prepare me for my future role as a pharmacist and eventually pharmacy manager including supervision, appraisals, resolving numerous queries and team leading.
