Build Engineer (Data Centre) Aug 2017 onward

Role objective:
• Plan, Design and Build new Data Centres (DC)
• Perform Capacity Adds at existing DC’s for Network, Compute and Storage.
Achievements:
• Plan and Design a new DC from a Bill of Material and executre the build of a tier 4 DC in Malaysia DC.
• Design, Plan and Build new orders worth 2M USD in Singapore.
• Coordinate with R&D on the DC Design and provide feedback.
• Automated Portmap using formulae and VB Script to reduce repetitive tasks and to reduce manual errors.
• Create, monitor and continuously develop KB with up to date solutions, which enabled Support teams to faster resolve issues.
• Ability to multi-task while on-site or remote on multiple projects and drive towards completion.
• Raspberry PI setup for OS installs in new DC’s to speed up installs, using kickstart, tftp and httpd. Network firmwares also made available via tftp and httpd.
• Configure Terminal Switches/Opengear, verify console access and other switches and routers which enabled remote accessibility to network teams.
• Update Wiki/KB with methods used while install and configure of EMC, NetApp Storage Setup, which enabled other team members to replicate and follow with ease.
• Verify and fix physical layer while on-site which reduced the need for multiple smart hands/remote hands visit.
• Maintain device42, our asset management tool to ensure that new DC build information is captured and ensured it is upto date.
• Update device 42 with assets during capacity adds.

Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Business Unit Aug 2014 - Jul 2017
Role objective:
• Ensure uptime, health, and resiliency of CDC infrastructure.

Achievements:
• Setup two CDC’s, 100 km apart in Haifa and Tel Aviv (Israel) in less than 4 weeks, which expedited production by 2 weeks.
• Proactive monitoring and timely break-fix reduced the Incident and Event count by 50% in the current fiscal year.
• Asset Management templates which reduced the asset audit for DC’s.
• Sorted and segregated ticket volumes for the top 5 issues and created knowledge base with possible solutions that enabled team members to resolve faster.
• Created Change Templates which reduced manhours in Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings.
• Common issues were standardized to avoid the need for CAB calls, thus speeding up the resolution rate.

2. Hardware:
1. Identify the latest H/W in market according to the need of the studio and plan for procurement.

2. Projection of H/W requirement based on the trends of failure and studio requirements.

3. Interview Candidates, as and when required for apt positions, within Desktop/Network/Server Support Teams.

4. Vendor Management for multiple vendors from a network, server, desktop and other infrastructure perspective.

Vendor Management:
1. Liaise with Multiple vendors for various Infrastructure Systems and devices

2. RFP's for new requirements, competitive and comparative analysis of quotes.

3. Seamless negotiation with vendors until product procurement.

4. Liaise with vendors from RFP, to procurement upto delivery and Installation.

1. Infrastructure and Systems Audit reports

2. IT Hardware and Infrastructure reports, inclusive of - Monthly team metrics, Incidents breakup (Hardware Failures, Service Downtime's etc., )
