• Reporting to Head of Group Treasury & Corporate Finance
• Analyze existing and proposed facilities and cash flow structures including related legal agreements to ensure maximum borrowing efficiency and assessment of ability to comply with all related reporting requirements
• Assist management in refinancing of group as well as business units’ debt through various alternative financing strategies i.e. Sukuk, Convertibles bonds, Exchangeable bonds, Bank loans, etc
• Monitor and report on compliance with financial covenants, terms and conditions of Group loans
• Assist in development and execution of hedging strategies for Interest rates and FX
• Manage and update group companies’ loans profile
• Monitor intercompany loans to/from group companies
• In additional to the above, continue to perform some of the functions mentioned under Senior Financial Analyst role below like valuations, dashboard reporting to DW Board, and preparation & updating of strategic plan
• Perform fair valuation of business units/corporate departments using multiple valuation techniques e.g. Discounted Cash Flow (FCFF, FCFE), earning multiple based, etc. Conduct relevant research (using Capital IQ and Bloomberg), financial analysis, and calculations to support recommended valuation and sensitivity analysis thereon
• Prepare monthly portfolio valuation and reporting dashboard for top management and Board of Directors
• Highlight major changes in overall portfolio, provide commentary on actual performance and future outlook, forecast future portfolio valuation based on forecasted performance and macroeconomic metrics
• Analyze portfolio performance against plan; perform attribution analysis to better understand key levers of out- or under-performance
• Review the budgets/plans of assigned business units and ensure that the budgets/plans are aligned with Group Facilities agreement
• Assist in the development of the consolidated budgets for DW as well as MIS reports to the management team, the Board and other stakeholders
• For assigned business units, define and develop key performance indicators; analyze and interpret financial and operational performance, and track key operational objectives and strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and profitability of the business units
• Assist in financial evaluation of any new plans/projects for the company and recommend the best option
• Prepare and handle special projects/ ad-hoc reports as per direction from management
• Responsible for planning, forecasting and measurement of implications to operating and capital expenditure for shared service departments (mainly IT) as well as other business units
• Prepare weekly cash flow and funding request for Government and other institutions
• Prepare yearly and quarterly operating and capital expenditure budgets and forecasts
• Analyze and interpret financial results and forecasts (variance analysis, P&L impact) and develop commentary on variations
• Monitor the expenditure and highlight potential exposures to avoid overspending
• Maintain and review KPIs related to budgeting, reporting and financial performance
• Prepare and/or use various financial models for business planning, budgeting, projects/CAPEX evaluations, financial performance/result evaluation, cost allocation/chargeback to business units, etc.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements including income statement, balance sheet & cash flow in confirmation with IFRS and Islamic Accounting Standards
• Prepare financial reports as required by Management including quarterly profitability report comparing current profit against budgeted
• Assist in preparation of budgets and compare budgeted costs to actual costs, and reporting and analyze the variances
• Maintain and analyze the investment of funds in shares and fixed deposit with banks, recording realized / unrealized profit / loss thereon
• Formulation, implementation and review of accounting processes, procedures and internal financial control over the company’s operation
• Prepare returns for various government regulatory agencies
• Supervises assigned accountants
• Liaises with MIS to develop the accounting information system
• Liaises with external auditors
• Worked as an Audit Trainee where area of responsibility included external audit of the business processes independently like Costing & Inventories, Sales & Receivables, and Procurement & Payables for client.
• Worked on a special assignment done on antidumping duty for a large exporter (Arif & Co.) of bed sheets Jaffer Brothers (Private) Limited
• Worked on a half yearly review of a listed company (Mehran Sugar Mills), primarily worked on cost of sales
• Prepare the account of liaison office of GulfCo, an exporter of lubricant oil
• Banking and cash management including L/C, L/G, facilities agreements, etc.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements, review actual vs. budgeted P&L
• Assist with Management reports
• Provide weekly and monthly reports as needed

- Awarded a gold medal in the subject of Strategic Management Accounting - Obtain highest aggregate marks and awarded special certificate of merit & Rs. 5,000 cash price in Foundation I & Professional I stages. - Obtain highest marks and awarded certificate of merit in following subjects: - Information Technology - Cost Accounting - Management Science Application - Corporate Law - Strategic Managment Accounting.
