Project Assignments:

1) HLG Tendering/Estimating Department (Aldar Building, Abu Dhabi, UAE); from 6th of May to 25th of September, 2012 (reported to Estimating Manager)
• Prepare complete quantity take-off (BOQ) for structural, architectural and fit out works.
• Study and examine the scope of works as per Client’s requirements, drawings, specifications, and other tender documents issued.
• Ensure that all drawing, specifications, addenda (if any) and all necessary documents are available at hand.
• Prepare subcontract / supplier enquiry register.
• Collate necessary documents and issue Request for Quotation (RFQ).
• Receive and respond to subcontractor queries.
• Prepare cost breakdowns / comparisons based on supplier quotations.

2) Dusit Hotel, Development of Plot No. P-9 Sector E-25 (Hotel, Residential and Commercial Complex - Abu Dhabi, UAE); from 12th of December 2011 to 26th of April 2012 (reported to Commercial Manager)
• Handle variation orders for both main contract and subcontracts for scopes such as finishing works, fit-out works, MEP.
• Assure that the items are priced as per the original BOQ and in accordance with the specifications required by the Client.
• Produce BOQ/quantity take-off for re-measured items such as ceilings, partitions, and other fit-out works.

3) Midfield Terminal Building, Expansion of International Airport (Abu Dhabi, UAE); from 29th of September to 11th of December, 2011 (reported to Commercial Manager)
• Review documents, specifications and drawings for detail and scope of work.
• Measure built-up area for preliminary cost of tender.
• Assist in the preparation of the Tender BOQ in terms of quantities measurement based on tender drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of various Submittal Forms and ensuring that they are strictly in accordance with the Client’s requirements.

4) Zayed University Project - HMR 828 (Abu Dhabi, UAE); from 14th of October 2008 to 28th of September 2011 (reported to Commercial Manager)
• Handle various accounts of subcontractors for architectural/fit-out works, scopes such as Supply and Installation of Blinds/Curtains; Supply of Ironmongery/Architectural Hardware; Supply and Installation of False Ceiling & Partitions; Supply and Installation of External Pavings.
• Accomplish monthly payments and variations for subcontractors, including accurate assessment of quantities and costs claimed.
• Maintain a Cost Report at the end of each month for Commercial Manager’s approval and record.
• Accomplish Final Accounts for each subcontractor at the completion of the project.
• Trained in Masterbill Ellite and QSCad - softwares for measurements (copy of certificate is available upon request).
• Re-measure/estimate structural and architectural/fit-out quantities using Masterbill Ellite for BOQ production and QSCad for measurements.
• Assisted Mr. Paul Watkins (Masterbill Sales & Marketing Director/Trainer) in the trainings of other QS’ within the company as needed.

5) Landmark Tower Project - HCJV1000 (Abu Dhabi, UAE); from 27th of November 2007 to 13th of October 2008 (reported to Commercial Manager)
• Monitor Sub-Contract Control Schedule.
• Prepare Variation Order Templates of the joint venture and its subcontractors.
• Involved in the architectural/fit-out re-measurement of the whole building, based on changes in the Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.

• Review High Level Budget Estimates created by the Technical Department based on Concept / Schematic drawings for approval.
• Manage and liaise with the Consultants in their tendering supervision stage by reviewing the tender documents prepared by the Consultants and ensuring that the Consultants are following the procedures and the timescale allocated for the tendering (if a Consultant is involved in a project).
