Contracts Manager / Project Manager
I am the Contracts Manager for Traffic Tech (Gulf), the company operates in 4 countries in the GCC and I supervise all contracts in the company and advise the Senior Management on pre- & post contract terms and conditions and involve myself deeply with the negotiation process with the client. I check and re-write contractual clauses as appropriate leading to the final agreement to be signed by all parties. These are primarily based on FIDIC contracts but also bespoke contract styles for QP, Ashghal and Qatar Foundation. For post-contract activities I monitor the project procurement, logistics, cost controls and invoicing with the relevant departments on a weekly basis and report all issues to senior management at least weekly. My team of planning engineers produces and updates weekly the relevant project plans for the Project Managers and ensures that updates are continuous from the site engineers. I work closely with the Project Managers on compiling and assessing the monthly payment schedules and authorize each invoice out to the client. I hold weekly meetings with Clients on active projects covering all contractual aspects including variations and invoicing issues and authorize the weekly and monthly reports to our clients. I also liaise closely with the QA/QC Manager on ensuring compliance with our ISO9001 certification. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, my responsibilities include;
• Negotiation, monitoring and tracking of all contracts through the group, amounting to over $50 million. This includes contracts in Qatar, UAE, Bahrain and Jordan.

I was originally employed as the Planning Manager and developed into one of the Projects / Contracts Managers with responsibilities for the efficiency of the camera system (client facing) and the contract administration of the telecommunication suppliers. I also worked on a project to find suitable mobile telephony sites for all UK operators by utilizing land held by a major UK power generation company. My responsibilities included;
• Contract monitoring / administration of subcontractors with respect to maintenance and telecoms supplies.
• Development of KPI and SLA reporting for both LCCS telecommunication suppliers contracts.
• Development of fault reporting procedures with LCCS in house engineers. Developed reporting processes for management board. Improved efficiency of response by 35% in 6 months
• Developed planning metrics for the LCCS Implementation Team to allow close monitoring of the Project work flows.
• Helped to develop statistical analysis tools that helped enhance the accuracy and read rate of the LCCS camera system for the engineering teams. Camera capture rates improved by 15% or approx 15, 000 extra reads a day.
• Conducted negotiations and agreements with land owner (EDF Energy) to allow mobile telephony installations to be constructed
• Identified and qualitatively evaluated over 1000 possible sites for construction. Worked with the land owner to establish suitability for build, what legal covenants were relevant and developed site records to assist in planning applications
