• Research, design, development, testing, and supervision of all aspects of the manufacturing and installing of computer hardware
• Providing technical guidance to colleagues and other teams.
• Design, build, test, and implement hardware and software applications for computer networks in a variety of settings.
• Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure;
• Designing and implementing computer systems, software and networks includes defining complex system requirements, determining system specifications, processes and working parameters.
• Managing email, anti-spam and virus protection.
• Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords.
• Monitoring network usage.
• Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers.
• Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems.
• Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards.
• Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet.
• Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence.
• Supervising other staff, such as help-desk technicians.
• Working closely with other departments/organization and collaborating with other IT staff.
• planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work;
• Managing and keeping internal networks running.
• Monitoring the use of the web by employees.
• Finding creative solutions to the challenges of network design, mobile communications, data service requirements, and internet and network signaling protocols.
• Testing theoretical designs.
• Support day-to-day administration of various firewalls.
• Maintain backups and upgrade systems as and when required.
• Ensure that business of the company is kept operational during work hours.
