• I promoted to next level as “Account Officer - Sales & Commercial” from 01-03-2009 under the new Asia Pacific regional role of a Credit Analyst I am reporting to Regional Production & Ag Manager under the credit function lead in the country. My role is to operate the credit function under the guidelines of DuPont Global Credit Policy and my responsibilities are as under:
Review & scrutinize the new customer’s credit application and the documents provided as Financial Statement & collateral
Prepare the legal documents for secure credits
To conduct the risk assessment of the customer based upon financial statement & a designed template based on criteria.
Annual Segmentation of the customers in order to assign risk category of the customers.
Execution of authority to approve credit limit per customer equivalent to 1Million US Dollars under the regional DOA
Monitoring orders control and collection
Participate in monthly regional credit meetings
Circulate monthly aging report to business leadership
Consistent liaison with sales team for early recoveries and follow ups
To meet with Business leadership including National Sales manager, regional managers at least monthly to review customer level information regarding top past due amounts
Managing Risk Factors with regard to Pre-Bankruptcy actions/considerations and post Bankruptcy actions/considerations
Take initiative to support for business growth under the guidelines of global customer financing framework
Managing receivables by extending credit limits in accordance with the company’s set targets and takes all the necessary actions for collections to facilitate the controllership to manage a sound cash flow.
Calculate DSO as per DuPont calculation metrics
Conduct testing program to ensure internal controls as per SOX guidelines and procedures
• My role changed as “Accountant Accounts Payable” from 01-03-07 - 28-02-09 in the same organization.
Record the Vendors’ invoices/bills according to “Three Way Match system” under BRRP (Buy Receive Receipt & Payment) a process developed by DuPont Global
Manage the Accounts Payable in liaison with sourcing under the guidelines provided in BRRP
Liaison with Treasury for smooth and timely payments under the different mode of contracts and agreements made by sourcing.
Monitor vendors party ledgers and reconcile with control accounts
Fixed Assets Management, managing Capital Work in Process with regard to different plant extension projects
Timely process and submit periodic withholding tax reports with tax authorities
Calculating import duties and co-ordination with Treasury for smooth and priority payments at ports for the speedy clearance of the seed for securing quality of seed and avoid unnecessary port demurrages.
Circulating balance confirmations to vendors and resolve discrepancies accordingly.
Making balance sheet reconciliation
Making bank reconciliation in the system to ensure internal control compliance.
Recording month/year end accruals and provision for certain payables.
• I became a regular employee from 01/03/06 under the position of “Treasury Accountant” with the same organization from joining i.e. 01/03/06 to 28/02/07.
My responsibilities were same as were of a contractual employee in Pioneer as mentioned in HRS (Pvt) Ltd.
Joined DuPont Pioneer Pakistan as an “Accounts Executive” under a contractual agreement with HRS (Pvt) Ltd. on 23/02/2005.
My duties were to take care all the operations with regard to Cash & Banks
Monitor funding positions of the bank
Liaison with Accounts Payable for managing cash flows & arranging short term deposit with the banks throughout the year
Arranging parent & inter-company transfers
Timely payments of customs dues/import invoices/utilities/vendors/growers & others
Banks reconciliations and other monthly closing related jobs
• Worked in Dubai based company as Chief Accountant
I was responsible to make financial accounts of the company
From 1998 - 2002. I have been independently handling all the operations i.e. handling L/Cs, liaison with shipping companies/forwarders and banks with regard to export of Sugar & rice in general and import of sugar in particular.
I have independently handled all the operations with regard to rice procurement, processing, packaging and shipping under the plate form of Al-Shafi Sardar & Sons (group of companies)
In 2002, I was assigned a new role as legal affairs. I was responsible to co-ordinate with company’s legal advisors and to assist them with regard to different cases of sales tax, corporate & family cases of the Group in the courts of Law.
From 1997-1998, I served the company as an Accountant
I independently handled all the operations with regard to export of rice in general and import of trading items in particular.
From 1994-1995 I had an additional responsibility for 1 & ½ year in accounts department to make company’s financial accounts independently.
I closely worked with a software house in designing and creating Co.’s chart of accounts in order to convert the financial accounts from manual to computerized
It was my first job as an Assistant Accountant from 1992 - 1993.
That was the period when accounts were maintanined mannuallly. My job was basically of book keeping, vouching and posting the enteries into the Journal and GL book.
