• Responsible for the care of the center patients.
• Preparing patient for PET imaging of multiple procedures.
• Starting Intravenous (IV) lines, place electrodes for ECG Stress test.
• Monitor patient vital signs ECG during cardiac stress tests.
• Responsibility for care of patients that vasovagal during the patient stay at the center.
• Good capabilities in documentation and record keeping of patient medical history and clinical records.
• Immediate response to patients who crashes during their stay in the center.
• Check in and maintain the drugs inventory, and daily check up of crash carts equipments.
• Assist Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Physicians with daily patient care.
• Experience in medical imaging departments, caring for radioactive patients and following the procedures and protocols for the same.
• Taking vitals while patient are being stressed ( Pharmacologic Stress or Exercise Treadmill Stress ).
• Monitor patient’s vital signs, input and output, performs complete assessment of patients including Glascow Coma Scale and provides appropriate interventions.
• Manages and directs the provision of care to patients requiring general, specific and complex procedures or care such as performing first aids before transferring the patient.
• Ensure and maintains the safety and stability of the patient while on ambulance during transfer.
• Performs all Nursing Interventions and Patient Care activities and according to hospital, Department and Unit specific Policies and Procedure and Nursing Practice Standards.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions/nursing care provided for patients.
• Provides Nursing Care according to a documented Care Plan.
• In collaboration with the Head Nurse, plans, implements and evaluate patient care delivery and continually seeks way to improve.
• Maintains timely documentation and appropriate handover to ensure continuity of care.
• Participates in multidisciplinary decision making on all matters pertaining to patient care..
• Is aware of and practices within appropriate Scope of Practice Guidelines.
• Practices within appropriate medico-legal framework.
• Demonstrates compassion for patients/families and respect for cultural beliefs and practices.
• Utilizes critical thinking to make sound Nursing judgements for safe and effective patient.
• Applies problem solving techniques in resolving issues within the Unit and initiates the Nursing or Medical Chain of Command appropriately when necessary.
• In collaboration with the Unit Head Nurse, ensures the maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Identifies infection control issues, informs the Infection control Nurse and Unit Head Nurse and initiates actions according to Infection Control Policies.
• Monitor patient’s vital signs, input and output.
• Performs assessment of patients including Glascow coma scale and provides appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with the other member of the healthcare team with regards to the patient’s plan to care.
• Keeps an updated record of all emergency drugs and observes aseptic technique in providing nursing care.
• Feeds patient through NGT or gastrostomy tubes
• Assist physicians in preparing patients for examination, testing and/or explaining procedures/test to patient’s family.
• Administers medications by appropriate route with consideration for patient safety.
• Follows established patient safety protocols for monitoring patients before, during and after treatment.
• Be involved in the setting and maintenance of high clinical standards of the unit.
• To provide expert care for the critically ill patients and dependents.
Feeds patient through NGT or gastrostomy tubes.
Assist physicians in preparing patients for examination, testing and/or procedures; obtaining vital signs and other pertinent information; scheduling and/or explaining procedures/test to patient’s family.
Follows guidelines/protocols established by the nursing department and document actions in patient chart..
Responsible for facilitating efficient patient flow within the unit.
Assist with the data collection regarding patient-related issues including maintaining database/referral network of health services..
Performs other related duties as assigned in the absence of the Charge Nurse when necessary..
