  • November 2013 to May 2014

Scottish Power/Ibedrola (Capita) November 2013 - May 2014 Senior Manager
At Scottish power I managed a team of customer service agents on a struggling campaign. Before I joined KPI's were not achieved and the project was going downhill with low motivation and lack of structure. Within four weeks of me joining the business I took more of a senior role and started to put some structure in to the project. I managed other managers and helped them work through the issues they had been facing with both HR issues and performance management issues. HR issues were rife in this office and this was another challenge I faced. We had to recruit and retain the right people, and manage expectations from staff members. I liaised with the quality team and scheduling team so we could put a solid plan in place to start meeting our clients KPIs. This was a fantastic chance at operations management for me and one I rather enjoyed. I then set about creating a grad bay team so that all trainees had extra support. So I recruited two seconded managers to help me with this. Within weeks the training department's attrition numbers came down and average statistics of a trainee went up. I championed all this whilst managing my own team to excellence. When I handed in notice Scottish Power offered me a job in house but I wanted to pursue a career in Dubai.

Sales Manager at Esure Insurance
  • United Kingdom - Glasgow
  • August 2011 to July 2013

Esure Insurance (Response Outsourcing) Aug 2011 - July 2013 Sales Manager
During my time at Esure I was responsible for multiple sale teams, selling products via outbound calls and inbound calls. My teams had 5 KPI's all of which we excelled on, month after month. My teams were always top in the business and our quality and compliance was exceptional. My role was to maintain KPIs, sales coach & train, provide feedback and maintain a strong relationship with Esure operations managers and directors. My team were the only outbound team to hit the sales target in over 9 months which made us team of the year 2013. I left this position to concentrate on my final pieces of course work at university. Recruitment was also a big part of my role as I had to deliver assessment centres for candidates and do 1-1 interviews.

Sales Team Leader at Barrhead Travel
  • United Kingdom - Glasgow
  • February 2011 to June 2011

Barrhead Travel Feb 2011 - Jun 2011 Telesales Team Leader As a team leader for Barrhead Travel it was my responsibility to support, coach and motivate a team of sales people. This is where my people management skills where tested regularly due to the variation of people I was working with and managing. This role taught me a lot about myself as a sales person and a people manager. I was only at Barrhead travel for a short while due to restrictions on development and inflexibility with university which was a pity as the role was perfect for me at the time.

Manager at Tui Travel
  • United Kingdom - Glasgow
  • July 2005 to February 2011

Tui Travel Jul 2005 - Feb 2011 Manager & Regional HR Champion. Thomson Holidays / Tui Travel is where I started off my professional life and what a rollercoaster it was. I transferred over from Thomson holidays which then went on to form one of the largest retail travel companies in the UK. I achieved a lot during this time, I went from being an apprentice to becoming a UK top seller overall for the retail sector and also the specialised holiday sector. After this I went on to be a retail manager bringing back two shops from profit losses and putting them in to a massive plus and taking one of them on to win VCC shop of the year for the whole company. Other duties I had at Tui was for me to head up projects for new systems and also a HR liaison. Anytime someone in the region had a HR issue it would come to me to assess, give advice and if need be defuse. This was my first taste or HR policies and it was a fantastic start to my career. My favourite part of this job was getting to travel and inspect some amazing hotels around the globe. I travelled to USA, UAE, South Africa, the Caribbean and lots of other places. This gave me fantastic international work experience. Training and qualifications:
