Perform physical and psychosocial assessment thoroughly in systematic manner by taking and interview.
Assess patient/family educational needs, readiness to learn and discharge planning needs and utilizing appropriate resources.
Provide total direct nursing care consistent with the plan of care and needs of the patients with respect for the privacy, dignity, personal preferences and culture. Maintain confidentiality reports of patient records.
Assist consultants, treating physician and ward physician during their routine patient rounds.
Carry out physicians order. Prepares, administers and documents the administration of medications, therapies and treatments as prescribed by physician in safe and accurate way within the standard of present hospital policies. Maintain Accountability and regular checks on narcotics, controlled and high alert medications.
Collaborates with the patient/family and other members of the health care team to develop and update a plan of care.
Initiate basic life support or emergency resuscitative measures and assist with codes.
Operate and monitor medical apparatus and equipments and assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Maintaining comfort measures to patient such as bed positioning, bed baths, perineal care and oral hygiene.
Educate and assist patient upon admission and discharge and giving instructions on their take home medications, follow up visits and referrals. Set an appointment as per advice by the treating physician.
Ensure prompt and accurate documentation of nurses notes, vital signs monitoring, assessment and pain flow sheet, fall risk, intake and output and medication records.
Ordering patient meal through the hospital information system software and coordinate with the kitchen staff and hospital nutritionist-dietician.
Taking over shift endorsement responsibilities from previous shift staff and handover to next shift staff on duty.

taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)
teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;
(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)
helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery
o Appraise the work environment and the risks of exposure
o Identifying possible risk sources and recommending safeguards.
o Provide a description of the typical response to exposure and work with any employees that do suffer exposure to aid in their recovery.
o Promote better health among employees. To that end she will work with employees to help them recognize and model good health behaviors.
o Help employees set their own goals for good physical, mental and emotional health.
o Work with injured employees to help them manage their recovery so that they can return to work sooner. In doing so, the nurse helps reduce the number of lost hours due to injuries.
o Provide documentation services for at-work injuries that can help with liability and workers compensation claims.
o Prevent both chronic and short-term illnesses. She can provide information about how short-term illnesses like colds and flu spread and make recommendations that, if followed, may reduce the number of employees who get sick and miss work due to such illnesses.
Raise awareness of lifestyle choices that contribute to chronic diseases. Employees who improve their lifestyle choices may stay healthier and miss less work in the long run.
