1. Participate in the design of new installations, facility modifications and the development of process controls to ensure robust risk mitigation and compliance with applicable safety codes;

2. Develop, review and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Cause & Effect (C&E) Matrix for safe and efficient operation;

3. Review installation of process piping and equipment to ensure all items are installed per the engineering drawings;

4. Provide subject matter expertise and technical support in the areas of process safety (e.g. PHA/LOPA, facility siting, pressure relief design evaluations, consequence modeling);

5. Establish process safety design criteria by doing consequence analysis including jet fire, pool fire, toxic dispersion, flammable dispersion, and explosive over-pressure models;

6. Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) study to evaluate the adequacy of risk mitigation plans for new/existing processes and suggest recommendation for risk reduction;

7. Actively participate in the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies for newly designed plant and/or any modifications to the existing plant and prepare close out reports;

8. Preparation of technical specification and datasheets for fire protection and safety equipment to ensure material selection in accordance with design specifications;

9. Providing support in process safety auditing, incident investigation and root cause analysis; and

10. Review plot plan and equipment spacing to conduct fire water demand calculation, to develop escape routes and safety equipment layout.

Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University at Qatar
  • Qatar - Doha
  • August 2012 to August 2014

I was supporting BP LNG Safety Research Project as a part of Graduate Assistant-ship. My core resposibilities were:

1. Computational Model Development to Study Cryogenic Liquid Vaporization; and

2. Design and Conduct Experiments to Validate Theoretical Models.

Gas Plant Operation Specialist at Chevron Bangladesh Block Twelve, Ltd
  • Bangladesh
  • July 2009 to July 2012

I was placed in Chevron Bangladesh: Block-12, “Bibiyana Gas Development Project”. I followed up daily operation and maintenance work in the processing plant to identify the deficiencies of process parameters and take necessary actions in compliance with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of Health, Environmental and Safety (HES) Management System. my job responsibilities included the following:

1. Monitor and operate to ensure safety precautions and carry out all tasks related to the installation, preventive, and corrective maintenance, repair and overhaul of different equipment like fire pumps, generators, compressors, vessels, pumps, pipe lines, valve stations, metering stations and well heads for the safe, prudent and efficient operation of production facilities;

2. Review and update the Piping & Instrument Diagram (P&ID), Cause & Effect Diagram (C&E), Process Operation and Control Narratives regularly;

3. Suggest modification and redesign processes on gas separation and dehydration system to increase operational efficiency, reduce operating costs, improve plant safety and protect the environment;

4. Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data/trends from three phase gas separation and dehydration system, glycol regeneration system and subsequently performing calculations;

5. Raise Change Work Request as Management of Change coordinator for any modifications, additions or installations of new equipment or facilities as required;

6. Identify any malfunctions of the plant equipment and issue work order according to the priority through Computerized Work Oder System and engage maintenance team to rectify the problem through preventive or corrective maintenance;

7. Analyze and interpret process data and laboratory results from different emission and drain point. Plan and ensure the dosing of required chemical to comply with environmental regulation;

8. Prepare Green-House Gas Emission report on monthly basis to comply with the air quality requirement set by the client; and

9. Actively participate in the Incident Investigation and Root Cause Failure Analysis of any incident in the plant and generate an analysis report to demonstrate engineering point of view.

Education

Bachelor's degree, Chemical Engineering
  • at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology
  • March 2009

Bachelor of Science : Chemical Engineering Institution Name : Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Senior Year Thesis Project : Study and Simulation of Natural Gas Transmission in Bangladesh under the supervision of Dr. Ijaz Hossain. Thesis Description: Natural Gas demand in both domestic and industrial sector is increasing day by day in our country. I made an overview of the total natural gas transmission system in Bangladesh. I have used PIPESIM to simulate and forecast the transmission of natural gas through North-South Pipeline which is one of the largest and most epochal pipelines in our national grid. Senior Year Design Project: To design a natural gas processing plant with a capacity of 100 MMSCFD under the supervision of Dr. M. Sabder Ali. Design Project Description: I have designed the plant by using tri-ethylene glycol as liquid desiccant in the absorption dehydration system. Here I have used HYSYS for the material and energy balance. I have done detailed engineering design of the major units. I have also completed an economic evaluation of my undergraduate design project.
