Bar/Banqueting Staff
The Heritage Park Hotel
Total years of experience :14 years, 0 months
o Here, I work in the bar and banqueting departments, implementing high quality service and attention to detail throughout, both bar-tending and silver service waiting for the majority of
functions. I deliver excellent customer service and handle any complaints appropriately to ensure the customer is content.
o More responsible duties include the opening and closing of the bar; cash-handling; counting of tills and dealing with stock, including cellars.
o Further to this I showed initiative amongst my team in the construction of promotional plans for products with a low demand, ensuring that they are sold before their expiry date. I achieved this
goal by introducing a cocktail menu. My contributions to the hotel resulted in reduced wastage of stock, greater variety for customers and increased profit margins.
o General office duties including data entry; invoicing; making/receiving business related calls and dealing with customer queries. I also aided IT solutions for the business such as producing the job
allocation database.
o Further into my employment with PSVS, I began to aid with the payroll and employee resourcing
aspects of the business. I began to construct job advertisements and offer my advice to the company director on the different types of recruitment and selection processes used in the
workplace today. This drew upon what I had been taught in Human Resource Management at university. I also introduced the 360-appraisal process to the company which is still in use today.
o Although I have completed my final year of university and work at the Heritage Park Hotel, I still administer the payroll for PSVS every Friday on weekly basis.
