Responsibilities / Tasks
Overall responsibility for planing and implementing of IT projects for Bureau Veritas Middle East in line with the IT Strategy document. Maintain / support IT services for internal customers of the Company.
- Ensures that advanced, reliable and cost effective solutions are implemented in the organization and compliant with regional IT standards
- Develop, design and manage the implementation of acquired solutions/hardware and monitor effectiveness of these systems
- Provide technical support to all end users and making recommendations for Service Improvement
- Ensure the continual functioning of critical applications/operations
- Work on compilation of technical documentation, guidelines and procedures.
- Develop review and certify all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans
- Responsible for managing external vendors in the generations of contracts, agreements, bids, SLAs and all other vendor interactions
- Understanding business process and define business requirements then performing new IT solutions that covers business needs
- Regularly Reduce costs by right sizing and right timing all infrastructure resource deployments
- Manage local and global IT projects from initiation to completion
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external team and the relevant persons in IT group
Delivery of all IT based related products in the Middle East offices. Maintain integrity and security of IT networks in all offices in complaince with the Data Protection act.To liase with the Heads of Business Units to ensure the business critical applications are upto date and are available during office hours.
Explaining and enforcing Bureau Veritas Security Policies and advising on risk and risk management. Ensuring physical security of IT equipment
Regional strategic planning, Purchase approval and budgeting, Managing design, procure, implement the entire computerization and Computer network within BV Middle East Region.
Administration, Providing support/Training to users. Ensure system back up procedures are maintained and routines are adhered to. Incorporating new technologies and faster network solutions. As a result changed the entire network within the group and linked up offices within the region.
Assist Regional Chief Executive with long term planning goals and implementation.
Headed the Networking and Connectivity division which involves installation and support of L.A.N Internet / Intranet and L.A.N to Host (AS/400, System 36), Connectivity products from Farabi, Eicon and Netsoft, Liasioning with different vendors and Principals, Customer support, Trouble shooting of all networking and Connectivity Products which includes, LAN’s, Gateways, Routers etc. Product Sourcing / Testing, Post Installation and Support, for Corporate Customers
In-charge of Networking and Connectivity Division, Providing customer support, scheduling activities of Support Engineers, In house trouble shooting, with additional responsibility in terms of setting up and maintaining a full fledged service/ Warranty centre, Which involved recruiting H/W engineers and procuring the necessary equipment’s from Singapore. Evaluation and Testing of new products was also handled by this Division.
