Responsible for the planning, execution and controlling tasks for the Improvement works in Dubai Airport Concourse C, B & Terminal 1. The contract value is (AED 750 Million). In charge of ensuring the services constructability to a workable phasing strategy that least affects the operational aspect of the airport.

Delivery of Residential, Infrastructure and Pedestrian Bridge to Bluewaters Island, Dubai. The Bluewaters and Dubai-I project is located on a reclaimed island of about 40 hectares, situated off the south western end of Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Dubai Marina. The Project Vision is to create an attractive upmarket leisure destination at the end of the JBR beach and promenade. Also included in this development is the world’s largest Ferris wheel named the "Dubai-I" which towers approximately 250 meters into the Dubai skyline. In addition, this mixed use development broadly consists of several other signature attractions such as residential apartments, a beach club, a retail souk area, the wheel plaza, a family entertainment centre and a 5 star resort hotel. Disconnected from the mainland, the island will be reconnected via a motorway bridge connecting to the 5.5 interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road, a group rapid transit linked to the Nakheel Harbor metro station, water taxis, and a pedestrian bridge that ties into the new JBR beach promenade.

The project is a part of the multibillion expansion of the Sheikh Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. This facility is a multi-specialty clinic and hospital mainly associated with the treatment of the players. The project includes two main buildings, a hospital and a clinic with two levels of Podiums / basements and a medical centre and energy centre with lush green landscaping hard and soft. The total cost approx AED 500 Million. Building will be covered by Tempered glasses (facade) with all round steel structure around makes the building outer structure more solid prism type.

Position - Project Manager reporting to the Project Director

Primary Roles;
• Coordinates with project engineers, superintendents, foramens for project work schedules for anticipation of resource requirements and its deployment, and readiness of work areas.
• Coordinate with the MEP contractors and trouble shoot any obvious problems that might delay the job in any way.
• Ensure constructability of work site areas and initiate timely action in clearing identified constraints/restraints that may create disruption to work execution.
• Ensure complete constructions of each work phase per plant facility prior to testing and pre-commissioning activities.
• Ensure availability of latest issue of approved for construction drawings and specifications required for work execution covering each phases i.e. civil mechanical, electrical & instrumentation in collaboration with project site engineering unit
• Initiate technical queries (TQS) for any encountered conflicts on drawings and specifications, lack of detailed design drawings, violations of codes provisions, etc.
• Coordinates with project site HSE and QA/QC department for required safety and quality control, intervention/inspection on established hold points activities of the project for each work phase
• Supplier/vendor and sub-contractor management.
• Reports directly to the Construction Director and responsible for the construction execution of the project covering all work phases.
• Hold regular site meetings with work superintendents/supervisors representing each work discipline i.e. (civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrument) as part of an effective work planning and control.
• Manage actively and timely clear of punch list items during completion stage of the project prior to client issuance of mechanical completion certificates by plant facility/area.

Also known as the St Regis Hotel Resort & Spa this is a 5 star hotel project incorporating Hotel, Apartment & Villas all centered inside the Gary Player designed Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. The resort is located on the prestigious Saadiyat Island which will become the cultural hub of Abu Dhabi with strict management and control over sensitive environmental surroundings. The project covers a substantial area of 300, 000m2 with many challenges including a tight program, high density infrastructure within the site including 3 levels of underground parking and dedicated service tunnels and restricted access due to the surrounding golf course making the logistics a very challenging exercise

Paris Sorbonne University, Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE - AED1.5 Billion

This project was an initiative between Mubadala and the Paris Sorbonne University to create a new and prestigious university close to the city on Al Reem Island. The project had a very challenging time frame requiring design & development of a world class university from a "green field site" on Al Reem Island commencing in June 2008 to an operational university by September 2009.

Stage 1 of the development was successfully completed on time with the opening of the first lecture wing, administration building, library & dining facility.
Stage 2 as planned was completed 12 months later incorporating the second lecture wing, central court, auditorium, student accommodation, sports hall and underground car park.

This was one of the first major high rise building projects of Leighton in India and the Joint venture with EMMAR (A property developer from Dubai) . This was a cost plus project which made this project extremely sensitive as far as commercial aspect was concerned and being in a position of a Construction Manager, I had to keep the balance of the progress on site with the spending on budgets. I was involved in the material requirements like tower cranes, Hoists, and scaffolding etc. to the monthly reporting to the Operations Director and the joint venture board with my Project manager.

This was a mixed user project which had an airport terminal, multi-level car park, reception lounge, and a large canopy for the guests.
This project was awarded to Leighton's by GVK and MAIL, it was a fast track project, the work started with the cast of foundations of the large steel structures which formed the main part of the airport terminal and the canopies to the final finishes which included 2500 Sqm of ceramic tiling, marble works, different size water features and all the fancy lights all around the airport terminal.

The structural works for this prestigious 29 Storey Private Residence in Mumbai, from ground floor to the completion of Level six.
This was the portion of this structure which was to be used for car parking,
Construction methods used were traditional Cup lock scaffold staging and reinforced concrete columns, beams and slabs.
Leighton's were engaged to train the clients staff in the construction methods associated with this type of structure and the project was passed over to the client at the completion of level 6.
This was done at a time when the project was running ahead of schedule and to budget.
