July 1999 - 2001 Exploration Geologist I‎

‎Responsibility includes:‎
Following exploration drilling of diamonds (core sample), reverse circulation ‎‎RC (cutting samples) in the site and determining the direction and angles for ‎‎the hole to be drilled. ‎
‎Mapping detailed geological maps of the site and correlating them with ‎‎logging to produce structure maps.‎
‎Logging the core and cutting samples.‎
Determining the interval for sampling to assay.‎
‎Locating new prospect for potential project by using regional maps (scale 1 - ‎‎50000 & 250000) and site visits. Once the location gives significant indication, we start ‎‎grade line system, trenching, simple mapping, sampling outcrop and wall ‎‎trench.‎
‎Calculating ore reserve, based on which we determine the volume of the ‎‎deposit.‎
‎Entering all data related to the functions mentioned above utilizing Excel, ‎‎Explorpak software to assist us make better judgement for following the work.‎
‎In addition to the technical responsibilities, I am handling some administrative ‎‎duties that include petty cash purchase and payment of laborers wages on a ‎‎daily basis and managing resources such as contractors and materials ‎‎considering that the work performed in remote area. ‎October 98 - July 99 Exploration Geologist II‎

Geologist‎ at Saudi Company for Precious Metals
  • Saudi Arabia - Jeddah
  • March 1995 to May 1998

Geological mapping and logging of drill core and RC cuttings, interpretation ‎‎of the drilling and sampling results, creation of geological model, and ‎‎preparation of data for ore reserve calculation. ‎
‎Geochemical and prospecting programs and operating geophysical ‎‎equipment such as magnetometers. ‎

Summer training ‎ at SAUDI ARAMCO
  • Saudi Arabia - Eastern Province
  • July 1994 to September 1994

Worked with Eastern Area Exploration under the supervision of Sami Aoudah and ‎‎Misfer Al-Zahrani. During my assignment I have produced Isopach maps for many ‎‎formations such as Khuff, Kulaibah, Jalilah and Sudair. Spent about 10 days in the ‎‎field during the drilling of HWYH-51 for which I logged cuttings samples and ‎‎produced drilling time charts. I was also trained to use some of the geological ‎‎software packages used at the time.
