• Key member of a team responsible for overseeing the design and maintenance of systems to control building automation and HVAC across various commercial buildings, hospitals, and schools. Developing comprehensive user-friendly GUIs to effectively monitor and control building systems ranging from air quality control through to occupancy monitoring and lighting/shading

• Liaising closely with the sales team and project manager upon commissioning of a new job, attending sales-to-operations turnover meetings to discuss project requirements and acquire the necessary engineering plans and specifications in preparation for design
• Conducting detailed reviews of all plans and specifications to evaluate the scope of work and identify any discrepancies, ensuring complete accuracy of sales estimates while minimizing cost by providing cheaper solutions according to specifications. Liaising closely with the engineering team to resolve any issues and clarify all requirements before the design phase
• Responsible for carefully selecting appropriate controllers, sensors, and other devices required for each project in line with engineering specifications. Subsequently using ACAD to design an effective control system outlining all required devices, electrical wiring schematics, sequence of operations, and extensive written documentation on system operation and bill of materials
• Developing efficient network designs with a detailed layout of all terminal controllers, master controllers, and other devices, together with their physical locations, network addresses, and scheduling details
• Preparing and editing comprehensive documentation packages for each project, covering a number of areas such as engineering specification compliance, material data sheets with relevant information on each product, valve scheduling, damper scheduling, flow station scheduling, various data sheets, and a number of control diagrams including mechanical, electrical, and BOM
• Collaborating with the supervisor and project manager to review project design and documentation to ensure full compliance with all organizational standards. Subsequently liaising closely with the engineer for review and approval
• Coordinating all inventory orders and tracking for each project, using SAP to maintain detailed records and ensure all materials arrive at the required location within specified timeframes
• Proactively monitoring project operations for any changes in scope or requirements as the project unfolds, collaborating with the technician and project manager to effectively manage any issues
• Carefully evaluating all documentation received from the specialist in relation to final material installation and configuration. Responsible for updating control diagrams before submitting to the engineering assistant for inclusion in the operations and maintenance manual (O&M) for the client
• Liaising closely with the project manager to evaluate any final changes that may arise, implementing appropriate solutions to ensure high quality project outcomes
Key projects:
• FEDEX Ground Hub in Cypress, Texas ($100, 000) - successfully identified a major issue relating to the quantity and quality of sensors that would lead to an additional cost of $90, 000. Subsequently liaising closely with the customer and engineer to approve an alternate sensor with an additional cost of only $35, 000, receiving formal recognition and praise for a cost saving of approx. $55, 000 for the company
• DOW CORE Chemical Research Labs in Lake Jackson, Texas ($6, 000, 000)
• The Memorial Hermann Pavilion 2 Hospital expansion ($4, 800, 000), one of the top hospitals in Houston
• Maintained responsibility for preparing guide drawings and combined service drawing (CSD) models for electrical, firefighting, HVAC, plumbing, and irrigation systems
• Prepared REVIT 3D models from AutoCAD 2D drawings in addition to performing all necessary clash detection and solutions
• Communicated effectively with all project leaders and consultants, delivering a high level of accuracy while effectively implementing current best practices
