• Answering to the company’s legal needs locally and regionally in the Middle East by providing advise and support to company’s top management (CEO and department directors) under minimum supervision of senior legal counsel, as well as advising different company departments (commercial, operations, IT, etc).
• Including but not limited to participating in negotiations, drafting and reviewing of concession agreements, non-disclosure agreements, advertising agreements, lease agreements, various service and supply agreements.
• Providing legal support for tenders to which the company participates in.
• Coordinating and supervising external lawyers concerning various litigation matters and legal advice, coordinating and reviewing memorandums prior to submission to court.
• Incorporating of group subsidiaries including advising top management on best company structure, drafting of relevant legal documents and coordinating and following up directly with the relevant authorities.
• Undertaking legal research and providing legal advice to different departments of the company on various commercial, HR, IT, criminal matters.
• Advising on and drafting of documents relevant to corporate governance and legal secretary.
• Preparing legal translation and reviewing of legal translation prepared by external translators.
o Responsible for assisting lawyers and trade mark attorneys with managing the MENA region trade mark portfolios of company’s major clients.
o Preparing and filing new trade mark applications.
o Clearance and conduct of trade mark researches and providing relevant legal advice.
o Drafting of oppositions and legal responses to trademark rejections.
o Managing a docket of cases (including deadlines and reminders) through a dedicated docketing system.
o Trade mark applications filing and prosecuting applications to register trade marks.
o Handling trade mark oppositions.
o Carrying out trade mark searches.
o Supporting anti-counterfeiting matters (including investigating, conducting of raids and drafting complaints).
o Liaising with governmental authorities such as the Ministry of Economy, the Customs and the Department of Economic Development concerning various matters.
o Drafting of short contracts.
o Legal translation (English-Arabic-English).
o Handling company’s correspondence with clients.
