In RSAS migration, the Oracle database was upgraded from version 7.3 to 11g and users were given access to different databases using virtualization tool Composite Software. BI-Channel Classification and LNP Redesign projects are modifications/enhancements to existing BI reports. Fourth project was POC (Proof of concept) for use Informatica Cloud for data integration tasks. Responsibilities included business requirement gathering, writing Functional and Detailed Design Documents. Modifications were done in data models, ETL and Cognos cubes. As data architect, modified SAS EDW data model to include specific objects needed by Foresters' reporting. Created dimensional models for five data marts. Due to complicated load and retention requirement, ETL architect was designed to maintain eight different Informatica repositories in development environment with capability to load data into/from any of eight corresponding Oracle environments.

• Designing (creating Source-Target specifications) Informatica mappings. Sources are VSAM files, COBOL copybook, (hierarchical data) and Oracle (relational data)

As a Senior ETL Programer, worked on the following projects: • GCDM - Production support and maintenance of GCDM (Global Customer Datamart) . Added multiple Lines of Business to GCDM. Coding was in Informatica 7.3. Sources for GCDM are Marquee (Cable), ODIN (Wireless) and flat files from other lines of business.
• CVS - Customer Value Scoring. Using Marquee and ODIN data, created stored procedures to load data into CVS tables and ran Cognos cubes.
• CMS - Created Informatica mappings to load data in CMS and loaded new Lines of Business.
• LNP - Local Number Portability. Modified data model and created Informatica mappings and performance tuning for LNP data mart.
• CRC - Contact Result Confirmation. I was involved in Requirement gathering to Data model design. Designed and coded mappings. Did Data Model modifications to accommodate changes in requirement. Sources are XML and Oracle. Also created Control-M draft for scheduling.
• Fido Data Enhancement Project: Adding Netezza as a source to Zone Dimension of Fido Data Project. Scripts to load data to flat file from Netezza and Informatica mapping to load into Fido Data Mart. Scheduling was done using Control-M.

As part of Systems for Business Intelligence team, my responsibilities include, establishing ETL standards, designing new architect, mapping development, performance tuning, mentoring junior members of the team and creating testing environment to move to version 7.1 from 6.2 and from version 7.1 to 8.1. Implemented eight datamarts (EV-DO, including Prepaid Financial, Prepaid Payments, Prepaid Call Usage, Prepaid Roaming, Contract Alignment, Sales Order and World Phone or International Roaming) . Also worked on phone number portability project and performance & tuning of ETL processes. Scheduling was done by creating Control-M drafts. Worked on POC (Proof of Concept) of using Netezza performance server versus Oracle.

• CGU (now called Aviva) Insurance, Toronto ETL design and transformations using Informatica (Sources are XML, Flat files and DB2, Target DB2) . Also wrote stored procedures using C and SQL language (DB2) for complex business rules. Created load validation model using Power Designer and its universe using Business Object. Also created 15 reports required for load validation.
• Telus Mobility, Toronto ETL design and transformation using Informatica (Sources are Flat files, Oracle 8i.) . Also wrote stored procedures using PL/SQL (Oracle 8i) for complex business rules. Developed/improved Proc*C code for older data marts. I was owner of two Data Marts (SMS and CDR) . I also converted SQL-Sever Stored Procedure based Scorecard software (used for activation analysis) into Informatica mappings. Converted some of the Pro*C code into Informatica transformations.
• Ontario New Home Warranty Program, Toronto Risk Management Data Mart Design using Power Designer. Including requirement gathering and based on the requirements, designing the Data Mart using ERwin. Gathered reporting requirement from users and created Business Object Universe for Risk management Data mart. Also created 12 required reports. Source and Target were in SQL Server.
• Hudson's Bay Company, Toronto Intranet project for Promotional Quantification (order size calculations for promotional events) . Technologies used: ASP, SQL7, Teradata, COM objects, ERwin, Visual Basic, DHTML and Power Designer. This project included getting user specifications, GUI information, designing queries (about 250), designing and coding front / back end and writing VB code to move data from Teradata to SQL-Server.
• IOF Forester Inc., Toronto Design of ETL mapping using Informatica and development of Test Plans. Data was loaded from source system (Oracle and XML files) to Siebel using IF (InterFace) tables. Sources were Flat files and Oracle.
• Merck Frosst Inc., Montreal Design and development of desktop application for keeping track of bidding on Vaccination Projects offered by the province of Quebec. Used Visual Basic, Oracle 8i and Power Designer.

The package was MS-Access based software developed for race car drivers and owners to keep track of drivers, part suppliers, inventory, race record, purchase/sale records. My responsibilities included design of the database structure, form, query & report design, extraction of data from external databases, design of Visual Basic modules, design of macros, help file development, etc.
