Manage and oversee the importation of all goods imported from outside KSA (such as raw material, packaging, chemicals, and general supplies) to support plants day to day and long term business requirements by customs duty/exemption, government subsidies, and any other government interaction related to customs clearance for import and export. responsible of controlling the compilation, application and refund of all duty exemptions.
Weekly meeting with buyer and Plant mange to select products that are in demand and will sell
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers
plan the best way to get goods from suppliers to distribution centers then on to retailers
Track shipments and stock levels using computer software
Work with retailers to make sure they receive their goods on time and in the right condition
look at ways to improve supply chain networks
Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.
Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.

Intervene/influence and arrange clearance of shipments immediately, in case of any hindrance or problems with customs/ports authorities.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with government authorities.
Check and ensure that all the related charges incurred for clearance of the shipments are accurate as per the rules/regulations.
Follow up with suppliers receiving and logging essential documents, such as airway bills, Bills of Lading, Legalized invoices and certificates of origin.
Arrange and ensure in timely collection of shipping documents and process of clearance documents to concerned custom authorities, for clearance of shipments.
Obtain SFDA approvals as required and submit all legalized documents to clearing agent for clearance.
Report customs clearance issues, problems and recommendations to Procurement Manager on weekly basis.
Follow up payments release from Finance to ensure in time processing of all shipments under clearance
Enhance Clearance cycle process
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of shipping requirements and documents.
Ensure on-time Initiation and preparation of insurance claims
Supervise & control day to day activities of Custom Clearance function
Prepare regular reports regarding shipments clearance status, demurrages/detentions, and Expenses.
Manage the necessary documentation and online SFDA forms.
Communicating needs & objectives to managers & key personnel in procurement, logistics & distribution.
Negotiating forwarders contracts
Managing supplier delivery performance measurements
Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import and procedures; tariffs and duties; licences and restrictions.
Communicate with export and import and related authorities,
Anticipate research and report on future changes in import/SFDA laws .
Manage all staff reporting to the position
