My thesis focuses on developing an application to detect fight events within university settings. To achieve this, I employed a histogram technique, which involves analyzing the distribution of pixel intensity values in video frames. Specifically, I conducted a comparative analysis between two types of videos: one capturing normal movement within the university environment, and the other featuring altered speed and movement indicative of potential altercations. Using Python code, I implemented this technique to extract meaningful insights from the video data. By comparing the histograms of these two video types, I aimed to develop algorithms capable of accurately identifying instances of fights or aggressive behavior within the university premises. This application not only has the potential to enhance security measures but also contributes to a safer and more secure campus environment.

My senior project focuses on developing a colorblindness application designed to assist individuals with color vision deficiencies in discerning colors in their surroundings. Leveraging image processing techniques within the Android Studio app development environment and utilizing the RGB library, this application aims to provide real-time color identification through a smartphone camera. By analyzing the RGB values of pixels captured by the camera, the application translates these values into understandable color descriptions that accommodate various types of color blindness. Users can simply point their smartphone camera at an object, and the application will promptly identify and display the color information in a user-friendly format. This project not only addresses the challenges faced by individuals with color vision deficiencies in distinguishing colors but also promotes inclusivity by providing them with a tool to navigate their environment more effectively and independently.
