Responsibilities:-
Conduct needs assessments for water and sanitation infrastructure, such as latrines, water supply systems, and water treatment units, in targeted areas.
Conduct technical assessments and feasibility surveys for water and sanitation infrastructure in the targeted area.
Assess emergency needs, particularly in the context of hygiene promotion.
Assist the WASH Engineer in inspecting boreholes, shallow wells, water pumps, and other water supply systems to ensure their operational status.
Support partners and communities in identifying their capacity-building needs and facilitate appropriate capacity-building measures, both formal and informal, to enhance local capacity and program sustainability.
Collaborate with the program team to plan, establish, and review all construction and/or rehabilitation activities in the projects, including budgeting, in order to address the needs of the projects and the targeted population.
Ensure community participation in all WASH infrastructure activities.
Coordinate and ensure proper integration of WASH infrastructure activities with local authorities (e.g., LWSC) and stakeholders, including integrating engineering activities with hygiene promotion activities.
Collaborate with local leaders at the community level to identify, mobilize, and sensitize target communities for water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.
Supervise and conduct regular visits to monitor the progress of ongoing construction and/or rehabilitation work, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budget, and technical specifications, and identifying potential deviations.
Negotiate agreements and obtain necessary permissions for construction/rehabilitation projects, maintaining regular communication with local authorities to ensure all required documentation is completed to prevent delays.
Facilitate the formation and training of Water Supply and Sanitation Committees for established, rehabilitated, or protected water sources.
Conduct regular field visits to supervise all WASH infrastructure activities and ensure the quality of completed infrastructures.
Contribute to the preparation of budgets associated with construction/rehabilitation projects, prepare invoices for payment, and anticipate the cash flow required for monthly payments.
Identify and distribute hand tools, maintenance kits, and water treatment chemicals to targeted communities.
Monitor water quality analyses at the household level and in IDP camps, assessing the effectiveness of home water treatment techniques through residual chlorine and bacteriological analysis.
Supervise the selection of materials, equipment, and resources for public health/hygiene promotion and community participation activities, ensuring suitable technical specifications and quality assurance.
Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate IEC (Information Education and Communication) materials.
Participate in the preparation, planning, and implementation of health and hygiene promotion and community participation activities within the project.
Assist in major repairs and installation of new materials, supplies, machinery, and/or equipment.
Verify contractors' and suppliers' compliance with contract specifications, work plans, and timelines.
Ensure that WASH infrastructure construction and rehabilitation works adhere to Bill of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and quality standards established by Mercy Corps through quality checklists.
Regularly monitor WASH activities within the agreed timeframe.
Ensure that all work is conducted in a manner that is sensitive to community needs and gender issues.
Monitor acceptance of water and sanitation facilities and assess beneficiary satisfaction.
Prepare weekly work plans for the WASH team and share them with the line manager.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and field visit reports in a timely manner and share them with the line manager.
Performing any other tasks related to the project assigned by the direct manager.
Responsibilities:-
Review BoQs, drawings, and specifications.
Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations of materials, products, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Review testing procedures and results to identify deviations and recommend corrective measures.
Maintain accurate records of inspection and test data for documentation and analysis purposes.
Using all methods and tools for field inspection and auditing of the quality of completed work, reviewing registration in site records and books, ensuring the extent to which previous observations have been addressed, and photographic documentation of all these procedures.
Investigating the factors for the success of the project from a technical and environmental perspective, including the suitability of the site for its establishment and the necessity of extensive discussion with the beneficiaries about this to know the extent to which the project implementation has achieved its goals.
Discovering the executed works and their conformity with specifications.
Detecting suspected materials and their conformity with the approved samples and storage method.
Filling out quality control forms and recording all data and notes (after examination and audit) according to the nature of the project and its characteristics.
Collecting all data on site, along with supporting documents, photographs, and all notes recorded in the quality control form, along with a sketch showing the location and the north direction.
Maintain standards of safety and comply with the health, safety, and Environment Management System requirements.
Monitoring the environmental impact of the project, determining the resulting effects and proposing appropriate treatments for them, while clarifying the extent to which the contractor is committed to improving the environmental situation.
Study and estimate the damages resulting from the failure to implement (if any), along with estimating the extent of the responsibilities resulting therefrom, identifying both parties (supervision or implementation), and then proposing appropriate solutions and treatments for that.
Review and examine the site book and verify to what extent it matches reality in terms of labor, materials supplied, storage and work carried out.
Uploading the field visits reports in the visits system (DCA).
Responsibilities:-
Preparing operational plans for activities and estimating their budget based on project documents and the Operations Manual of the Social Fund for Development.
Organizing administrative and field work for project activities and coordinating with support units.
Supervising the preparation and review of all administrative, financial, and technical documents to ensure completeness and compliance with approved procedures.
Managing and planning every stage of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, within budget, and on time.
Preparing and monitoring projects' work plans.
Drafting the environmental and social management plan for the projects, coupled with devising a comprehensive health and safety risk assessment strategy, including corresponding measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Preparing trade-offs, contracts, and terms of reference for technical consultants and supervising their work.
Reviewing technical designs, bills of quantities, drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Approving technical studies and overseeing the handover of project sites and the receipt of completed projects.
Verifying the appropriateness of interventions and comparing them to the project cost and the number of targeted families.
Conducting field and community visits to prepare the community and initiate project activities.
Monitoring the implementation process, ensuring compliance with work mechanisms, standards, and objectives.
Monitoring and evaluating the performance and efficiency of activities, addressing any imbalances or conflicts that arise.
Conducting monthly visits to the projects under your responsibility.
Maintaining continuous communication with the project supervisor, informing them of developments, raising difficulties and obstacles affecting field activities, proposing solutions, and following up until resolution.
Documenting all data related to implemented activities, including achievements, impact before and after intervention, success stories, initiatives, and lessons learned.
Preparing periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) and submitting them to the program official to report on the progress of performance.
Monitoring fund disbursement levels according to the plan and at the appropriate time.
Ensuring timely issuance and follow-up of monthly eligibility statements for workers.
Conducting risk management to minimize project risks.
Ensuring documentation of beneficiaries' occupational health and safety awareness procedures.
Entering project data into the Management Information System (MIS) and reviewing it regularly.
Reviewing reports from project consultants and updating progress indicators in the MIS system promptly.
Responsible for following up on the archiving of project documents.
Liaising, coordinating, and collaborating with relevant parties before starting any activity, including official security authorities, local authorities, and stakeholders, to overcome difficulties and facilitate timely implementation.
Performing any other tasks related to the project assigned by the direct manager.
Responsibilities:-
Preparing all designs, layouts, specifications, and BoQs for tenders about the various project activities (construction, infrastructure, etc.).
Develop technical designs, detailed BOQs with cost estimates, drawings, and structural calculations for required construction work in line with existing local, national, and education cluster standards.
Preparing the project's bid documents, including the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the targeted schools, and review and approve the engineering plans and the BoQs.
Preparing a detailed implementation plan for the scope of work required from the initial stage to the completion of the work and for the post-handover stage.
Preparing purchase and bidding plans and orders, including evaluating tenders, negotiation, and contract management offers.
Preparing the environmental and social management plan for the project, coupled with devising a comprehensive health and safety risk assessment strategy, including corresponding measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project execution and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor and assess project risks throughout the project lifecycle, and take proactive measures to minimize their impact on project objectives.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
Supervise all the project activities at the field level and follow up the project cycle.
Review the advancement of the progress in the projects and Ensure quality control of works and compliance with quality standards, specifications, and safe construction practices.
Execute the inspection of construction materials delivered to the project, ensuring that they conform to the specifications and proposing corrective actions if the quality of the delivered materials does not conform to the specifications.
Follow up and Provide advice to site supervisors to ensure achievements in a timely manner on technical criteria.
Planning and managing safety procedures and measures in the worksites.
Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
Provide feedback to the staff on the progress of the activities and review project indicators and ensure that targets of the project achieved.
Assure that all on-site work complies with all applicable Health and Safety, Social and Environmental requirements, standards, and national and international best practices.
Ensure “protection Mainstreaming” and “Accountability to Affected Populations” in all aspects of Education interventions.
Write and submit all kinds of required reports.
Document and share lessons learnt in a comprehensive and detailed manner to enable track trends on changes on a timely basis.
Submit weekly activity reports and field visit reports at critical stages of construction works.
Preview and review the extracts submitted by contractors and prepare the extracts according to the approved payment method, the quantities executed, and the time period required for them.
Prepare the final receipt certificate and submit reports to the area manager so that the contractors' dues are paid.
Performing any other tasks related to the project assigned by the direct manager.

Submitting bi-monthly reports to the project officer, including technical indicators and completion rates.
Monitoring and ensuring the quality of technical works, ensuring they align with the criteria of the cash-for-work program.
Documenting projects to demonstrate the impact before and after intervention, as well as success stories.
Verifying the quality of received materials.
Work with local communities to identify and prioritize projects.

Processing financial payments for contractors and labor dues based on the percentage of completion.
