• Oversee full RO and ETP plant operations, ensuring continuous, efficient production with zero unplanned downtime through proactive scheduling and maintenance.
• Monitor and control all critical water quality parameters (pH, TDS, COD, BOD, turbidity, chlorine) with 100% compliance to environmental discharge standards.
• Lead chemical dosing strategy — calibrating pumps, optimizing dosing levels, and managing inventory to eliminate waste and prevent stockouts.
• Conduct RO membrane CIP to prevent scaling and fouling, extending membrane lifespan and reducing replacement costs.
• Manage hygiene operations across all facilities including crate washing, laundry, compound, admin offices, and washrooms — coordinating a multi-function sanitation team.
• Analyze operational data and trends to identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions before issues escalate.
• Champion food safety culture — reporting breaches and risks to the food safety coordinator and ensuring all staff adhere to HACCP and safety standards.
• Manage procurement and stock control for CIP, ETP, chiller, and boiler chemicals via SAP Material Management, including GRPO invoice processing and monthly reconciliation.
Achievements
Designed and implemented a caustic mixing reactor improving process safety and operational efficiency, cutting CIP wait time by 35 minutes per cycle.
Led supplier and procurement team collaboration through alternative sourcing (chemical trials) for CIP chemicals, reducing the department budget from KES 1.2M to KES 900K a saving of KES 300K (25%) monthly.
Transitioned chemical procurement from small packaging (20L jerrycans) to 200L recyclable drums, significantly reducing plastic waste and lowering the carbon footprint of chemical operations.
Trained different teams on safety protocols, chemical handling, and waste management improving audit readiness and operational consistency.
Maintained 100% compliance with environmental effluent discharge standards through proactive monitoring and rapid corrective action.
