• Survey sites to identify accident-prone situations and hazardous
environmental conditions.
• Prepare specific Safety Rules and Regulations for a particular job / project
site and plan for safe working practices for implementation.
• Evaluation, selection and control of sub-contractors to ensure that Sub
contractors are fully aware of their safety obligations and are in fact
meeting them.
• Co-ordinate with Client Organization and organize for Safety orientation
Program for all employees who may be allotted to work at that
organization.
• Ensure all employees wear general required Personal Protective
Equipment(PPE), depending on their job, including arranging special safety
gadgets like full body harness to work at elevations, chemical resistant
gum boots, Aprons, for Acid pickling personnel.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and awareness sessions for all workmen
before each shift.
• Continuously monitor compliance with Safety Rules and Regulations.
• Recommending management for punishment to habitual violators
including termination.
• Attend safety coordination meetings and update workmen on important
safety measures.
• Promote a culture of safety and health awareness among all workers.
• Investigate and report all accidents promptly, arranging first aid as
necessary.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams to perform tasks
safely.
• Advise on safe working systems and recommend improvements to existing
work methods.
• Inspect fire extinguishers on schedule and arrange servicing as required.
• Ensure placement of safety posters, boards, and charts at worksites.
• Conduct site safety inductions and advise new employees on safety
measures.
• Monitor housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
• Inspect firefighting equipment, fire alarms, and fire control systems
regularly.
• Ensure unfinished jobs (e.g., open pits, overhead work) are secured with
signs and safety tapes before leaving site.
• Perform safety audits and provide training to company and contractor
staff.
• Prepare and submit daily safety reports to supervisors; issue work permits
when jobs begin.
• Lead accident/incident investigations, prepare reports, identify root
causes, and recommend preventive measures.
• Conduct regular inspections—daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly—of
site activities and facilities.
• Coordinate fire drills, Driver Training, and safety-related meetings.
• Ensure all workers are in proper safety attire and maintain continuous
safety reminders.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure safety compliance.
• Perform gas tests to confirm safe oxygen levels and absence of toxic gases
in confined spaces.
• Train workers and staff on emergency evacuation procedures.
• Plan safety publicity programs and arrange for posters, signs, and visual
aids.
• Establish and maintain the site emergency response team.
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety and health standards in line with
regulations.
• Ensure scaffolding is constructed to meet applicable standards and
specifications.
• Continuously assess site working conditions and make positive safety
recommendations to project management.
• Collaborated with engineering teams to integrate safety measures into
project design stages.
