Preparation of tenders for Electrical and Instrumentation works related to petrochemical and chemical complexes. This involves the study of tender documents and consolidation of information, the preparation and or organization of detailed bills of quantities, the allocation of direct and indirect costs, the preparation of summaries, activity and manpower scheduling programs, the coordination of interrelated activities with other disciplines and the review and finalization of the tender package with consortium and or joint venture partners.
Set up of infrastructure required to carry out construction work related to process control and measurement for the project.
Organization, management and supervision of a large work force in the construction and pre-commissioning of process control and measurement related activities for the project.
Set up of an extensive instrument work database for monitoring of construction work.
Supervision and Guidance of the instrumentation subcontractor in the construction and pre-commissioning of the OSBL & ISBL units.

Review of Joint Venture partners Instrument work designs and introduction of design change proposals that would both speed up construction time and save on material.
Design of underground Instrument cable pulling sequences for the utility and offsite areas later used as a basis for designing cable pulling sequences in other areas.
Planning, organization and management of construction work for the SCADA/PLC systems; installation of remote racks, PLC panels, operator consoles and computer equipment, conduit work, cable pulling and termination for PLC, motor operated valves and tank gauging data highway systems.
Assistance in the planning, organization and management of construction work involving process control and measurement; calibration, installation and loop check of pneumatic and electronic instruments, conduit work, cable pulling, termination and stainless steel tubing work.
Assistance of senior electrical engineers in the preparation of tenders for various projects. This included reading tender information, performing quantity take-off, preparing bills of quantities, cross checking drawings and quantity take-off against bills of quantities, designing building lighting, power and fire protection systems and preparing bills of quantities for these designs. This involved extensive use of Lotus 123 and Philcal (lighting design software).
Curriculum based on General program. Relevant courses include; Advanced Pascal, C Language Programming, Signals and Systems, Microprocessor Systems and Interfacing, Feedback Systems Analysis and Design, Transmission of Information and Digital Signal Processing.
