As head of Product division, responsible for the development of new software products to enhance the product line for Electronic Queue Management and Customer Feedback Management Systems. Technical evaluation of the new products to be developed including platforms selection ranging Android, Microsoft .NET, Java and PHP, keeping in view the overall architecture of the system and communication with hardware components. Managing team comprising of Software Project Manager, QC Lead and Technical Documentation writers.
Major accountabilities include setting up priorities for projects / tasks with stakeholders; project related budget preparation, commitment on timelines for the delivery of projects / tasks.
- Requirement analyses for new products / changes in existing products keeping in view the “Product Angle” \[concerns related to the impact on other products, maintaining a single version, competitors, reusability and long term potential, value addition in product and cost/benefit analyses\].
- Pre-sales activities related to clarification of scope and technical proposal writing for large projects involving customization; followed by explaining the solution in demos / meetings with the customer.
- Writing SRS document based on the scope of the project ensuring that product is delivered as per the SDLC model under the ISO process.
- Leading the implementation team for the implementation of large projects globally.
- Involved with the distributors and operations department globally to identify weak areas / issues / bugs to ensure inclusion of these in the original road map for future revisions / model with the consent of stakeholders.
Worked as Project Director for the implementation of SAP Business One in the both Karachi and UAE offices.
Also involved in outsourcing of large projects exceeding capacity of existing team.
Handled project clients in UAE, Pakistan, Oman, UK, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Algeria.
Project Management for customized software projects and products throughout their life cycle. Major responsibilities includes initiating, planning, monitoring, controlling and executing the projects, conducting review meetings with major stakeholders to monitor the project execution, ensuring timely delivery of the projects, SRS writing, pre-sales technical proposal writing, studies and gap analysis.
Additional responsibilities include being the QMR for ISO certification for the company. Have been actively involved in acquiring ISO 9001:2000 certification for the organization.
Managing projects throughout its life cycle, involved in Business Process Reengineering, preparing requirement specification document for products and customized software after conducting meetings with the clients, assigning tasks to the team, involved in post development implementation, software change process, conducting demos and presentations to the clients, providing technical guideline to the team, Technical evaluation of candidates for job.
