Established in 1984, EIL is a major inspection and testing facility in the Middle East, serving various sections of industry mainly working in the oil and gas, marine, petrochemical, plant inspection, fabrication etc. onshore and offshore. Here I gained experience in the working of metallurgical testing department in EIL mainly dealing with destructive and non-destructive mechanical testing such as:
• Charpy Impact Test of Metals (temp. from ambient to cryogenic temp.)
• Tensile Test
• Welding Procedure Qualification
• Fracture Test
• Hardness test
• Nick Break Test and Bend Test of Metals
• Radiography - X-Ray and Gamma Ray.
• Ultrasonic Scanning
• Liquid /Dye Penetrant Inspection
• Boroscopy
