Protege Global is an entity involved in business process outsourcing pertaining to insurance claims settlement working in Pakistan (Subsidiary of Medical Lien Management; MLM USA). Job Description and responsibilities include negotiating and expediting the processing of individual claims with insurance companies in the event of temporary and permanent disabilities. Maintaining case files and following up on the status of the claims in progress. Moreover monitoring and supervising the progress of files assigned to lower level staff (Adjusters) and obtaining feedback of the case file for reporting to management. for the past six months I have also been involved in preparation of Management Reports (on the formats prescribed by the parent company; MLM) pertaining to the financial aspect of the business to the parent company. IBEX (Subsidiary of The Resource Group; TRG Pakistan) Recording and analyzing warranty claims made by consumers on behalf of several manufacturers of electronic consumer goods mainly desktop and laptop computers, cell / smart phones and other tech related products. Clients included large manufacturers of tech products including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Google etc. Period of service in IBEX was September 2014 to October 2015.
- Overseeing the System Audit Process, Joint Inspection of securities brokers,
- Monitoring reporting of capital adequacy and assets segregation statements by securities brokers,
- Managing complaints and claims registered with the Exchange against securities brokers,
- Overseeing default management in instances of defaults of securities brokers,
- Coordination with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited and the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited, relating to investigations against securities brokers, including provision of information and assistance
- Provision of information and assistance to civil and criminal regulatory bodies including the National Accountability Bureau, Federal Investigation Agency, Anti-Narcotics Force and Honorable Courts
- Working in the capacity of Manager Finance accountable to Chief Financial Officer,
- Primary responsibility includes the preparation and finalization of standalone financial statements of the company and the consolidated financial statements of the group,
Other priorities included:
- Preparation of periodic budget and involvement in tax planning activities of the company,
- Responsible for overseeing the daily operations including review and validation of general ledger,
- Overseeing the accounting of strategic investments, deals in equity operations, daily payment processing,
- Coordination with internal and external auditors and commenting on the gaps identified during the audit,
- Involvement in secretarial matters along with statutory forms and special purpose reporting to regulatory authorities,
- Correspondence with regulatory authorities and other companies including related parties.
- Managing, planning, supervision and review of different assignments involving statutory audits of standalone and consolidated financial statements, interim reviews, and legislative; certifications in compliance with IFRS, ISA, and IAPS; further, providing professional advice over their compliance status,
- Assessing compliance with regulations and controls by executing audit program steps, examining and analysing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation and providing advice in this regards;
- Assessing risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance, evaluating manual and automated financial processes, identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies. Further, reporting recommendations on systems of internal controls of Banks and companies to those charged with governance, and
- Communicating audit progress and findings by providing information in status meetings, highlighting unresolved issues, reviewing working papers and analyzing strategic aspect of the organizational planning.
