The main responsibilities for the above role include but are not limited to:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Act in the capacity of lecturer/senior lecturer in Quantity surveying to deliver on both UK and international based courses within the department.

b. Maintain a high degree of involvement in and contribute to the development of the future curriculum associated with quantity surveying.

c. Maintain empathy and good rapport with students and staff both for the UK provision and with the international providers. Make regular, high-quality applications for funding of projects.

d. Supervise research students with dissertations and thesis submissions.

e. Set targets for, support, and accept responsibility for the quality of work undertaken by professional subordinates.

f. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders outside the University to develop beneficial partnerships and programmes, including commercialization opportunities.

g. Take responsibility for development of your own research and personal development to enhance the profile of the department of the built environment.

h. Contribute to outreach and recruitment activities to promote quantity surveying and associated disciplines to a wider set of stakeholders.

i. Work alongside the quantity surveying team within the built environment department to enhance the discipline and team activities in promotion and further development of professional practices associated with quantity surveying.

j. Provide a role model (both practically and inspirationally) for students at the beginning of their career or wishing to develop their professional standing further.

k. Ensuring the development and implementation of coherent research programmes.

l. Ensuring that research is published and made available through appropriate outlets.

m. Critically analysing and implementing of assessment programs for students.

n. Providing support for less experienced staff.

o. Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
