• Acting Director of Catering Sales reporting to DOSM and Hotel Manager
• Leading, training and coaching a team of four people for catering, social events end weddings;
• Delivering the monthly forecast vs budget, based on market analysis and opera report;
• Managing complex tenders for the local market such as Fifa Fan Zone, Fifa main Media Center, Universities Graduations, Equestrian Club, Doha Exhibition Center;
• Presenting tenders with HOD and GM and create the action plan for operations, kitchen, housekeeping & front office for a smooth and successful event execution;
• Conduct site inspections prior events along with the operation team, understand clients requirements and identify possible venues challenges and come up with immediate solutions;
• Manage all the existing outside catering and social events accounts and identify new business potential through sales calls, sales blitz, events calendar, Munaqasat, joining sales call with the proactive sales team;
• Creating a suitable proposal and menu based on the client requirements and the market intelligent;
• Structure and translate events and weddings contracts based on the local market policy and regulation;
• Overachieving the budget and growing the outside catering segment from three millions in 2015 to fourteen millions in 2022;
• Hotel rebranding from Shangri-La to JW Marriott and create an action plan to increase and achieve an outside catering production from one million in 2019 to 8 million in 2022.
Handling major groups such as governments, ministries, corporate and local &
international exhibitions representing the 75% hotel revenue;
• Conduct site visits and support the sales team in the lead conversion; follow by the
introduction meeting with the client as main contact point during the event;
• Comply with Marriott events standards and procedures, assisting the banquet team
during the event execution, and come up with immediately resolution with clients
complains and perform a successful event in order to ensure customer satisfaction and
retention;
• Lead the Marriott Power of Site Inspection project initiative;
• Assist clients for detailed event planning and work closely with banquet operations,
food & beverage management, rooms division operation, finance and external
suppliers;
• Satisfy the need of the clients whilst optimizing hotel revenue through strategic yield
management and up-selling of hotel facilities and services;
• Using sales techniques when assisting customers in making reservations, including personalizing calls and obtaining complete customer needs, follow 'up selling' techniques and sales strategies to maximize property revenue.
• Answering customer questions about property facilities and services and determine the most appropriate room type to meet customer requirements while maximizing the room revenue.
• Arrival review, rates and promotions loading on Opera system, preparation of the daily reservations reports;
• Building Group blocks on Opera, Mini Hotel in Marsha and proceed with any update.
• Building contract in Opera and External System MARSHA.
