Instrument & Control Engineer

Main Job Responsibilities Include:
• DCS System (Yokogawa Centum vp):
 Routine report and maintenance checks of DCS system.
 To Design and develop the control logics as per control write up provided by inspection & operation team.
 Graphics design using the graphics builder.
 Developed the SOE (Sequence of Events) Configuration..
 Configuration of the OG (Operator Guide) Message for any alarm which guides the operators to take necessary actions.
 Development of the Shift & Daily Reports using the Report package.
 Implementing updates and modification of DCS.
 Schedule and conduct loop checking and verification of DCS trips and alarms.

• ABB ESD System(800XA):
 Maintenance & troubleshooting of ABB Industrial System 800Xa.
 ABB800xA (ESD and F&G System) installation commissioning and simulation logics.
 I am also wok on ESD and F&G system, handling new modifications. Loop testing, updating graphics, trend configurations and development of control logics, safety interlocks & tuning control loops.




• ISOM Unit & Rotary Valve System
 I am also Involved in commissioning and maintenance work of Isomerization unit & Rotary Valve operating system.
 Involved in activity of testing liquid & gas driers regeneration sequence.
 Making Rotary Valve operational, making necessary correction to improve operation efficiency. Alignment of rotor plate and limit switches. Adjustment of rotor arm stroke length done, Sequence and operation of RV were checked.
 Performed loops test of ISOM & RV instruments.
 Maintained software backup of Rotary valve system.
 Control system checklists & record created.

• RO Plant Commissioning:
I have worked on Seven Trent RO package comprising of DAF (Dissolved Air Floatation), MMF (Multi-Media Filters), 2 SWRO units, BWRO and CEDI units. Loop testing, logic verification, Instrument Calibration etc. Worked on PH, TDS, Turbidity and Chlorine Analyzers.

• Boiler Commissioning & Instrument Air Compressors:
I have also worked on 50 ton water tube boiler, done loop testing and verification of its BMS interlocks on Allen Bradley PLC systems also checked DCS to boiler interlocks.
Performed tasks for commissioning and maintenance activities in instrument air compressor.

• SAP Plant Maintenance Module:
 Development and implementation of PM schedule over SAP R/3 environment.
 Notification and Order creation of Routine and Operation demand jobs.
 Maintaining documents as per SAP & IMS Quality Standards. I.e. Maintaining check list & history cards of all instruments (Field instruments, DCS, PLCs, UPS & Instrument Air Dryer)
 Preparing weekly Progress Reports, Summarizing & reporting major jobs on monthly basis.

• Field Commissioning Work Responsibilities:
 Logic test & Functional test as per cause & effect Diagrams.
 Confirmation availability of inputs alarms & switches on DCS coming from field against Alarm & Trip Set-point List and P&ID.
 Testing, Calibration and commissioning of all types of field i.e. Temperature, Pressure, Level & Flow
Transmitters, Switches & Indicators; Control Valves with Electronic & Pneumatic Positioners,
Pressure Relief & Pressure Safety Valves.
 Parameterization of instrument with communicator sequence test and logic test.
 Closed loop test to confirm the continuity of cables. During loop/Function test, simulated the process variable with hand held communicator or from DCS in manual mode for HART.
 To monitor the function of instruments.
 During start-up handled the troubleshooting.
