• Realized Hidada’s goal of digital transformation by applying an ERP solution across the Group, overcoming the challenges of two prior failed attempts by former implementers.
• Leveraged SAP Activate methodology to implement SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors on the HANA Enterprise Cloud platform, using best practices where possible, limiting customization.
• Consolidated the IT departments of Hidada and Hidada Contracting, reducing overheads by 50% with negligible impact on service levels and annual savings exceeding 2 million SAR.

• Replaced the unreliable proximity-card based Time & Attendance System with a fool-proof biometric Face-ID System, eliminating proxy attendance by 100%.
• Revamped the obsolete company website making it intuitive, responsive, and modern, projecting the company’s image as one of the biggest steel fabricators in the region.
• Established workflow automation, document management and archival.
• Engaged the Systems, Support and Software Development teams to revitalize the IT infrastructure to meet new requirements as the company doubled in size.
• Virtualized server and storage systems, splitting physical multi-role servers and migrating each role to dedicated VMs and VHDs, slashing database query processing time by 300%.
• Executed two Exchange Server migrations, beginning with an Exchange Server 2000 box, and concluding with an Exchange Server 2010 3-node virtualized HA DAG with the IOPS to support 850 mailboxes and 50MB message attachments, and spare capacity for growth.
• Installed two Barracuda Email Security Gateway appliances for primary and secondary mail exchangers to shield them against inbound spam, phishing, and DOS attacks.
• Decommissioned a, 50 user, BlackBerry Enterprise Server with BlackBerry handsets and replaced it with Exchange ActiveSync on Android smartphones, ending subscription fees and saving on handset costs.
• Migrated 300 users from an ISA Server to a Blue Coat ProxySG appliance with WebFilter, for WAN optimization, content filtering, bandwidth & access control, and DIA cost reduction.
• Designed an asset tagging and inventory system using barcoded tamper-proof asset labels and hand-held scanners for 100% accountability.
• Implemented a BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1 solution for Salalah Port Services Co., Oman, in hybrid environment consisting of Windows NT/2000 Server and Compaq Alpha Tru64 systems with Exchange Server 2000.
• Implemented a BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1 solution for Nawras Telecom, the second mobile operator in Oman, in a hybrid environment consisting of clustered Windows Server 2003 servers, clustered HP-UX and Sun Solaris systems and clustered Exchange Server 2003 servers.
• Planned and executed an Active Directory Migration involving 12 Windows 2000 Servers and 250 Windows NT/2000/XP Clients for Hidada. The migration resulted in a consolidated AD for the Xenel Group with almost a thousand users.
• Implemented a BrightStor ARCserve Backup r9 solution for Jotun Paints, Jeddah, in a Windows environment with Lotus Domino.
• Implemented a BrightStor Enterprise Backup v10.5 solution for Food & Fine Pastries - Sunbulah, Jeddah, in a Windows environment with SAP R/3.
• Migrated Safra’s Windows NT 4.0 domain (spread over three sites) to Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory, along with the migration of Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange Server 2003. And, implemented BrightStor Enterprise Backup v10.5 solution for the new environment as well as for SAP R/3.
• Developed ‘CMASS’ (Central Marketing & Sales System), Hidada’s first Multi-User, Client/Server, GUI program, using OOP enabled PowerBuilder 4 (running on Windows 3.1) on the front-end and WATCOM SQL (running on Netware 3.11) at the back-end, in 1995. Another in-house developed program 'CEOS' (Central Engineering and Operations System) is still in use today in 2020.
• Supervised the commissioning of a 1.5 Million SAR IT infrastructure upgrade, including Server Room renovation, LAN upgrade and, installation of new Compaq Servers, SAN and Tape Library for SAP R/3 and implemented BEB v10 to back it
all up.
• Linked Plants in the Industrial City with Warehouses in the Warehouse City using Cisco Aironet P2P wireless APs.
• Restructured Hidada’s network by replacing the existing Class B IP addressing scheme with Class A to integrate it with the Xenel Global Network linked by LightPointe ULL P2P Wireless APs.
• Designed and Implemented ‘Web CEOS’ (browser component of CEOS), built on 3-tier client/server architecture to allow access to Project Status Reports over the Internet, in 2000.
• Led the development and support teams to make systems and applications Y2K compliant. Compliance was achived in all affected areas like OS, BIOS, In-House and Office Applications, etc., well in advance of the December 31 deadline.
• Led three major NOS migrations: First: 1 Banyan Vines server and 20 DOS/Windows 3.1/3.11 clients to Netware 4.1, in 1994. Second: 2 Netware 4.1 servers and 180 Windows 95/NT clients to Windows NT 4.0 Server, in 1999. Third: Windows
NT Server 4.0 to Windows 2000 Server, to deploy Active Directory with DNS and DHCP.
• Wrote a custom KiXtart Logon Script to overcome its absence in the Windows environment. It automates mapping of shared network drives, applies registry settings and displays quote of the day messages and useful logon info on client PCs.
• Developed a ‘Feasibility Study System’ and modified standalone FoxPro 2.5 applications in the early days.
• Responsible for the daily backup and archival of data.
• Responsible for the synchronization of item coding structures between the Mysore Plant and the Coimbatore HO
• Actively participated in the ISO 9001 certification process by making the software systems compliant with documented ISO procedures.
• Developed/revised several stand-alone applications in FoxPro 2.0. including the following: Revised the existing ‘Inventory Control System’ to use the FIFO method. Developed a ‘Purchase Control System’ from scratch. Enhanced the existing Invoicing, Payroll and Job-Card systems to meet new requirements.
• Supervised a tiny LAN running Novell NetWare 2.11 on a non-dedicated Server with diskless, remote-boot client nodes running DOS 4.0 (from EPROM).
