Responsible for ensuring delivery of reliable mechanical & piping designs of all assigned projects in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of Byco’s mega expansion project, Upgrade-I.
- Preparation and issuance of mechanical & piping related specifications during FEED in compliance with international standards and best practices.
- Supervised and reviewed 3D-Model of Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU), Amine Regeneration Unit (ARU), Diesel Hydrotreater Unit (DHT) & Kero Hydro Treatment Unit (KHT) to support project execution.
- Developing and managing Mechanical & Piping Datasheets for procurement in Upgrade-I Project.
- Ensuring timely issuance of material take-off and other deliverables related to mechanical discipline.
- Calculating piping load for Main Piperack for Upgrade-1 project, and Unit (KHT, DHT & SRU) pipe racks.
- Extending support to the construction team in execution by providing work fronts related to mechanical construction to ensure that project timelines are adhered to.
- Liaison & coordination with external vendors for execution of external services related to mechanical jobs.
- Monitoring the work progress of construction at the site to ensure alignment with the approved plot plan.
- Assisting in preparing Flare, SWRO, WWTP, and Water intake channel packages by developing mechanical & piping deliverables.
- Ensuring overall mechanical scope and design basis are issued as per schedule, assist the team by accommodating deliverables timelines such that no activity may suffer.
Appointed as a mechanical engineer in the rotary reliability division of the Project department. The training program incorporates the execution & planning of projects & maintenance jobs and involves departmental rotations in the Services, Integrity, and Material Management departments. Job description and learning development are as follows:
- Execution and planning of preventive & corrective maintenance of rotary equipments (including plant shutdown) by using SAP ERP to ensure operational excellence.
- Supervised mechanical rotary projects through optimum utilization of resources to support reliable, safe, efficient, and profitable operations and achieve project targets within time and budget with high quality and safety standards.
- Assisted with rotary mechanical materials procurement to support timely completion of projects along with providing a technical review to the commercial team against vendor quotations for correct sizes, specifications, and materials.
- Identified areas of improvement and ensure troubleshooting of equipment and system issues to ensure equipment reliability, availability, and operating performance.
- Investigated the root causes of failures or incidents involving different equipment, providing recommendations and suggestions to avoid the reoccurrence of failure.
- Controlled and monitored the operations of the power generation systems to ensure hassle-free power generation and minimize downtime. Prevent unexpected shutdown or breakdown due to emergency handling and maintenance of diesel engines.
- An active member of LoPC Forum (Loss of Primary Containment) to identify, maintain, verify and manage process-safety critical elements through root-cause analysis.
