As Contract Specialist at 84 MW New Bong Escape Hydro - Electric Power Complex with New Bong Escape Joint Venture (NBE JV) Consultants, responsible for dealing all kinds of contractual matters with the contractor and the employer including the milestones payments in accordance with the EPC Contract Specifications. Beside assisting Site Manager in dealing with day to day miscellaneous matters, responsible for the preparation of minutes of weekly progress review meetings held with the contractor as well as the Board of Management (BOM) meetings minutes.
I have experience in construction supervision and design review of hydropower projects in the electrical field (installation, testing and commissioning of hydropower projects in Pakistan, 3478 MW Tarbela Powerhouse, 1250 Mw Ghazi Barotha Powerhouse). I have experience of preparing monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports at Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project and Mangla Dam Raising Project.At the end I worked as Cotntract Specialist at 84 MW New Bong Hydropower Project.
As Chief Engineer (Reports & Documentation) at Mangla Dam Raising Project with Mangla Joint Venture (MJV) Consultants, responsible for preparation and issuance of monthly, quarterly, annual progress reports and completion report of the Project. Also, responsible for monitoring the contactors’ monthly progress reports and monthly progress photographs of Mangla Dam Raising Project.
As Chief (Reports & Records) with Pakistan Hydro Consultants on Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project, responsible for preparation of Project periodic progress reports (monthly, quarterly and annual), Project Completion Report, monthly meetings schedule, agenda/working paper and minutes of meetings vis-à-vis monthly progress review meetings among Employer, Consultant and Contractors, fortnightly construction management meetings between Consultant and Contractors and other important meetings held on the Project from time to time. Responsible for storage and preservation of Project Record and Documents. Provided expert advice, as and when required, on the execution of electrical installations of the Project. Participated in commissioning tests on Uch Thermal Power Plant at Dera Murad Jamali, Balochistan in July /August 1999 in addition to above assignment.
As Electrical Engineer with Saudi Binladin Group at Riyadh Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant No 9 in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia, responsible for preparation of drawings for various electrical systems of the Power Plant including grounding, cable trays, conduits, lighting and small power, equipment layout and isolated phase bus etc.
As Project Manager/Engineer’s Representative with M/s CHAS T MAIN International Inc of USA on Tarbela Hydropower Third Extension Project Units 11-14 of 432 MW each at Tarbela, responsible for certification of contractors’ payments, issuance of variation orders and final completion certificates, settlement of disputes on technical and contractual matters, completion of the Project works, finalization of contracts and preparation of Project Completion Report. (December 1995 -December 1996)
As Deputy Project Manager with M/s CHAS T MAIN on Tarbela Hydropower Third Extension Project Units 11-14 at Tarbela, assisted Project Manager in handling technical and contractual matters of the Project and responsible for admin and financial matters of NESPAK Staff deputed on the Project. (July 1995 - November 1995)
As Deputy Chief / Chief Electrical Engineer with M/s CHAS T MAIN on Tarbela Hydropower Third Extension Project Units 11-14 at Tarbela, responsible for detailed design review and supervision for installation, testing and commissioning of the four generating Units 11-14 of 432 MW each and its associated 500 KV Switchyard equipment. (September 1986 - June 1995).
As Principal Electrical Engineer at NESPAK Head Office Lahore, remained involved on the preparation of evaluation reports for the following contra:
• Tarbela Hydropower Third Extension Project Units 11-14 (Isolated Phase Bus Contract).
• Mangla Hydropower Extension Project Units 9-10 (Power & Control Cables).
• Kot Addu Gas Turbine Power Station Project Units 5-8 (Electrical Equipment including Transformers & Switchgear).
• Bin Qasim Thermal Power Station Project Units 3-4 Karachi (Electrical Equipment including Transformers & Switchgear).
(September 1985 - September 1986).
As Principal Electrical Engineer with M/s Acres International Limited of Canada on Tarbela Hydropower Second Extension Project Units 9-10 of 175 MW each at Tarbela, responsible for detailed design review and supervision for installation, testing and commissioning of the units and its associated 500 KV Switchyard equipment (October 1982 - September 1985).
As Office Engineer on Tarbela Hydropower Second Extension Project Units 5-8 of 175 MW each at Tarbela, responsible for preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly progress reports, agenda/working paper and minutes of meetings for Project progress review and coordination meetings, monitoring of Project schedule, coordination between civil and M&E contractors of the Project and maintaining correspondence with the client and manufacturers/contractors of the Project (October 1977 - October 1982).
As Senior Electrical Engineer on Tarbela Left Bank Irrigation Tunnel Project at Tarbela, responsible for supervision for installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment related with the operation of outlet gates, service gates, bulkhead gates and gantry crane and preparation of completion report for electrical works as well as as-built electrical drawings of the Project (October 1975 - October 1977).
As Junior/Senior Electrical Engineer with Tarbela Joint Venture (TJV) - the Main Contractor of Tarbela Dam Project (the largest earth filled dam in the World) at Tarbela, did work on the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment related with the operation of a huge Earth Work Processing Plant used to supply different types of construction materials, having a chain of conveyor belt system for the construction of gigantic Tarbela Dam (March 1970 - June 1975).
- Member Executive Committee of Pakistan Engineering Council - Attended a course on effective letters and reports writing at Pakistan Institute of Managent - Achieved honorariums, appreciation letters and promotion from the Employer NESPAK during the course of my long service with them.
